Q: 1993 Honda Accord not started for a year - what do I need to do?
I have a 1993 Honda Accord EX Manual Transmission that has been in storage and not started for a year. Right before putting it in storage I had the oil changed but that's all. I plan to start driving the car again this week. What should I do to get the car ready to run again?
OK - I tried to start but the battery is dead. Jump started it and it seems to run fine. But when I'm driving it, it jerks every few seconds. Not sure why. It idles just fine.
A: Charge or change the battery, check belts, check spark plugs and wires, 90- 93 Accords are known for distributor's going bad so have it checked other than that it should be fine.
Q: My 1993 Honda Accord has other problem right after taking from the repair shop. ?
I took my 1993 Honda Accord to the shop to replace the radiator.I came to pick it up.As soon as i arrived home i found out water spilled out on the road.I brought the car back to the shop. After checking it out mechanic lets me know that the water pump is broken.I don't know if the mechanic, when replacing the radiator he used force too hard so the water pump cracked down.I really do not know.Anything related between water pump and radiator?
A: My first question is, are you sure the radiator was bad in the first place? And, how reputable is the shop were you took the car?
Q: my car is 1993 honda accord lx. can i refill the A/C and how much would it cost?
i have 1993 honda accord and A/C needs to be refilled.my friend said they cant refill it because they used to use a gas harms ozone so it is illegal now so they have to change the whole A/C.i searched web sites and i didnt see anything like that.so can i refill my A/C and how much would it cost me?thank you for your help
A: your car must be a r12 system. the car can be converted to r134a the new gas for a reasonable price. my question to you is why dose the a\c need to be charged anyway. it doesn't burn the gas it lakes it. if you refill it, it will just leak out anyway. you need to have the a\c leak checked. if you don't your just wasting your money. I've done allot of this type of work if i can help e-mail me at natallbad@yahoo.com............ this car might already be a r134a car some went to r134a in 1993 all did in1994.
Q: How to remove a 1993 Honda Accord steering column?
The car was stolen and they ripped up the ignition so instead of replacecing the ignition I went to the junkyard and bought a new column and plastic cover, now I need to swap it out where do I start?
A: This is pretty involved, if you have never done this I would take it to a shop or go through your insurance. I would find a friend that has access to mitchell on demand or alldata, that will give you a step by step on how to replace it, and yeah there is more than two bolts.
Q: 1993 Honda Accord hestiation or delay when driving?
The engine reves high when in neutral. I have hesitation and delay when driving. You have to accelerate to shift out of gear.
We just had the transmission replaced with another used one and 2 weeks later we had these issues.
The car has been sitting in our driveway for about 2 months now. It is no longer safe to drive.
The battery needs charged now to even start.
Any ideas?
A: 1.get vechicle to run(replace charge battery).
2. check trans fluid level
3. check for disconnected wires or electrical connectors.
4. check for disconnected vacuum lines or hose
5. have vehicle diagnosed by qualified technician.
6.replace transmission(did you get any warranty?)
good luck.
Q: I have a 1993 Honda Accord LX Sedan with a surging idle at start up; especially during cooler weather.?
After a minute or so it returns to normal. Any suggestions as to what this could be?
A: could be that the car is cold and simply just settleing down to its normal temp which i think between 190-220 degrees anything over 220 is a no no ........if its only when you first start the car up for the day dont worry about it ...its fine just let it warm up a bit before you get going......n e ways letting the car warm up first benefits you and ur engine....u dont wanna just start it up and take off right away....all the oil sits way at the bottom of the block and when u just start it up and go ,you dont give the engine a chance to lube it self up thus wearing ur motor up time after time
Q: How can I fix the air current buttons on my 1993 Honda Accord?
The buttons have power because the lights come on, but no matter which ones I press, the air comes out the same. Its not really that big of a deal now but winter is coming and the defroster button does not work at all. I am afraid of visibility issues!
Thanks.
A: You might have a bad/corroded resistor block.
Q: What's the difference between the 1992 and the 1993 honda accord?
A: Not much difference except that there was a driver's -side airbag and the EX was available with leather I believe. Also, an SE model was available. it was essentially an EX model with exclusive colors, leather seats, different wheels, and Bose audio system. The car was redesigned for 1994

Q: How much will a slave or master cylinder cost to get fixed on a 1993 Honda Accord??
Clutch pedal stays down when I step on it. Can't change gears when that happens. I was told that it may be the slave or master cylinder!
A: £600 quid approx, my dad specialises in these parts.
Q: What is the typical size of the speakers in a 1993 Honda Accord LX Sedan?
I'm wanting to get new speakers for my dad's car which will probably become my car after we make some customizations and modifications to it, so does anyone know?
A: Shallow 6.5" in front doors and deep 6.5 in the raer deck. EX is 4" in front doors and 6x9 rear deck. Front doors have a sail panel which is easy to mount tweeters.
Q: What causes tach rev fluctuations at idle and when brake pedal is depressed on 1993 Honda Accord?
A: Boy, THAT was rich! A tachometer bearing? ROFLMHAO! Whew!
Q: How do you change the front hub assembly on a 1993 Honda Accord sedan?
A: The hub, bearing and steering knuckle are pressed together on that car. You will need to remove the entire steering knuckle assembly and bring it to a parts store with a machine shop to be pressed apart and back together again. Not a hard job. Take off the brake caliper and pad bracket and hang it out of the way. Disconnect the outer tie rod end. Disconnect the ball joint. Unbolt the knuckle from the strut. Reverse procedure to re install after press job.
Q: How much should it cost to replace the timing belt of a 1993 Honda Accord?
A: How much, depends on who does it. The local Honda dealer charges about $500, and that's including preventive replacement of the water pump, which involves no additional labor. I would charge someone $175 to do it, if they bring their Honda parts.
