Q: How much would it cost to fix power windows on a 2000 Honda Accord?
my front windows in my 2000 Honda Accord no longer work, and it's a real pain in the butt when it's late a night and I want to go to a drive through and either can't, or have to deal with embarrassment of opening my door to get everything. So I'm thinking about getting it fixed...any idea how much it may cost?

A: that's going to depend on whats wrong with it,it could be the motor bad or the switch bad on it,you first need to get it diagnosed then see what they say it needs,it can cost anywhere from 50 bucks all the way up to 200 to get one working again, good luck.

Q: Should I buy a 1996 Acura RL or 2000 Honda Accord LX?
Hi, I am unsure about what car I should buy. I saw a 1996 Acura Rl premium edition. It has 83500 miles on it and is in excellent condition. The 2000 Honda Accord LX has 73,000 miles but does not have all the options like the Acura and is in good condition. Which car do you think is more reliable? Please let answer. Thanks!

A: I would go with the Accord. Both are built by Honda and will have similar reliability records but the Accord is 4 years newer and 10k fewer miles. Also, and I am not familiar with the older Acuras but many of the newer ones require premium gas whereas the Accord will require only regular. Of course, another BIG factor is if either of them have maintenance records. This would show just how the car was taken care of, which can tell you a lot.

Q: How stable is a 2000 honda accord lx?
I'm getting a 2000 honda accord lx (vtec engine)...how well does it perform in wet weather? Reason why I ask is because I have a 88' honda accord dx currently and it does not do very well in wet weather..wants to hydroplane.

A: If your Accord isn't good in the rain, you have crappy tires on it. Go to tirerack.com and check the tires for that car, look at the ratings and read the reviews. I have an Accord (2005), the OEM Michelins are so so in the rain, but my winter tires (Hankook) are much better, so when the Michelins are shot, I'll get something else. No matter how the suspension is designed, the tires are the most important part of your cars handling, especially in poor weather. It's the only part of your car that makes contact with the road! One additional point - make sure your car is aligned properly. Even great rain tires won't work well if their not meeting the road as designed.

Q: Where is the ECU on a 2000 Honda Accord LX?
Today I went to my honda dealer, and they said my check engine was on because of a faulty ECU. They quoted $1400 for repair. Does anyone know where the ECU is located on a 2000 honda accord so i could get the part number and try to buy it cheaper? Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

A: It should be under the carpet on the front passenger side. Pull up the carpet and you will see a restangluer gold box. Unbolt it and then look on the side for the numbers. I think the number should start with a P.

Q: 2000 Honda accord ex 4 cylinder good buy?
Hi im planning to get a 2000 honda accord sedan ex 4 cylinder as a first car and i am just wondering if this car has any problems. I heard that the v6 ex models have some transmission problems and i want to know if this also applies to the 4 cylinder ex model. Also how much money should i spend on this car with low mileage?

A: The 4 cylinder models do have a tendency to have those same trans issues. You want a recall-rebuild with a 2005 date on it. If you can't find that out, pass on the car.

Q: 2000 Honda Accord V6 Dash Battery light on, All door light on, parking park light on. Why?
2000 Honda Accord V6 Dash Battery light on, All door light on, parking park light on. Why? Last night, I was just driving back home from a gas fill-up and suddenly all those lights came on? Sometimes, it flickers but this morning I checked and the lights are still on! Anyone know why?

A: Battery light means there is a charging system problem-may be a shorted battery or in the alternator/wiring systems. The lights are on because the controller for the warning lights is VERY voltage sensative.

Q: 2000 Honda Accord Transmission Question?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord V6 and the flashing engine light has turned on. I had the car scanned and it read that there was a 3rd gear pressure problem. How important to my car's fuction is this problem, how long should I go driving my car without getting it fixed? Also, how much would it cost to get it fixed?

A: You must have an automatic, therefore this is a problem that should be taken care of immediately. If you lose third gear, the others will follow. A $105 pressure solenoid if far cheaper than $1200 transmission.

Q: Accidently put diesel fuel in my 2000 Honda Accord V6, what should I do?
About 2 1/2 gallons of diesel fuel was put into my Honda Accord 2000 V6, my girlfriend drove it for about 1 mile and then it stopped running. My friend suggested I syphon as much diesel fuel out of the car and fill the rest of the tank up with high octane fuel and that would dilute the diesel fuel enough so that I can drive it to a garage. Do you think this is a good idea? I called a car repair shop and they said they will tow my car and clean the tank for 400 dollars. What do you think I should do?

A: i own a shop, and i done one about a month ago that had been done like this ,you have to drain everything ,and may even have to change the fuel pump also ,i did, anyway drop the gas tank and clean it out really good, flush the whole fuel system out real good change the plugs also and once all this is done it will start back and run a little rough for about 3-5 minutes, then it should smooth out and go back to normal,i been through this about 3 times with one of my customer on a Pontiac sunbird, and they keep doing it,but that's what all you have to do,and it will straiten back up,once you get it running good change the oil also, what just happened isn't a cheap thing to repair,i usually charge around 500 for doing all of this, but that's parts and labor included, but its not ruined ,its just not going to run again until its right ,good luck with it hope this helps.

Q: Is there a fuse for the clock and odometer for a 2000 Honda Accord?
Most of the 98 to 02 Honda Accord has blew off the dash clock and odometer light bulb...I try to replace it but still is not working....Is there a fuse that control that?

A: CALL THE HONDA DEALERSHIP.

Q: SHould I change the transmission fluid on my 2000 Honda Accord?
My Honda Accord coupe has about 65000 miles on it. The transmission fluid is still pretty good--not bright pink like new but good. Should I change it? If so, where should I have it done? A place like Firestone, or the dealer? I live in Ohio--not sure if that qualifies as extreme driving conditions or not. And I have had the car for 3 years and have put about 40000 miles on it myself.

A: I would have them change it at the dealer's shop and make sure that the pan is removed so that the filter can be changed. Unless they also flush the transmission before removing the pan, then only 1/2 of the original fluid will get changed when they change the filter. So you really need to do the service more often if you don't get a complete fluid flush and restoration with the new filter. By the way, there's no way to tell that motor oil, transmission oil or engine coolant is "good" just by looking at it! Have the fluids and filters changed according to your manufacturer's maintenance schedule if you want to keep the car a long time. "Pay me now, or pay me later" is the saying for neglecting maintenance because you'll end up paying for much higher repair costs otherwise.

Q: 2000 honda accord, how to fix broken rear door handle with child lock?
My honda accord has a broken right (passenger's) rear door handle with child lock activated. How do I get the child lock unlocked so that I can open the door from inside to fix the handle?

A: My husband is ASE Master Certified. He said to let you know that the first thing you do is remove the lower section of the back seat out of the vehicle because the door panel won't come off with the seat in there. Then remove the door panel. The door can then be opened by pulling on the door release rod inside the door itself. That's it.

Q: What size speakers fit in a 2000 honda accord?
someone wants 6x9 in the doors of their accord. i know they wont fit but i cant remember what size does fit. can anyone help me remember?

A: technically you could fit just about any speaker you want in a car with the right amount of modification to make them fit, its about what the person wants and what kind of sound the want to get out of the car/truck. but like everyone said crutchfield will tell you
