Q: How reliable are honda Accord 2003 coupes?
My friend wants to buy a 2003 Honda Accord coupe v6 6spd manual with 88,201k one it for $9,990. Do you guys think the price could be lowered to at least $7,500? how reliable this type of honda is? what kind of problems he should be expecting soon?
A: All the newer honda's are very reliable, if it's been taken care of then there shouldn't be any problems. And actually the 9990 is a fair price, I've seen some with more miles go for more than that.
Q: Has anyone experienced any problems with the Honda accord 2003 ivtec?
I have a 2.0 ivtec 2003 Honda Accord. Since servicing it i have been hearing more engine noise. There is like a whining sound as i accelarate. and a tappit sound in low revs.
I am hoping its nothing to do with the gear box...
A: the sound you are describing could be caused by a loose or worn drive belt. I would look to confirm or eliminate that possibility before you get too involved in chasing demons that may not exist.
the easiest way to see if the drive belts are the problem is to buy some belt dressing and spray the pulleys and belts with the dressing. The belt dressing will lubricate the belts and eliminate the chatter that can cause the slapping or 'ticking' noise as well as the whine.
I would also suggest you check the level of fluid in your power steering pump reservoir if you haven't already.
if the noise only happens when the car is moving then check the tires for nails or for evidence of cupping. if the noise happens without the car moving you can eliminate the tires and axles as potential causes of your noises.
hope that helps
those are the only items i can think of that would go from a 'tap' to a 'whine' as engine or vehicle speed increases.
Q: How much will it cost to replace the timing belt on a 2003 Honda Accord? ?
I have 2003 honda accord coupe EX. Just hit 100,000 miles bout a month ago. Anyone know how much it cost to change it and get a new one? Heard it was real expensive. Details appreciated.
A: If you have the 3L V6, you have both an "interference" engine ($$$ if belt breaks) and a timing belt driven water pump that should be replaced at the same time along with the belt idler and tensioner pulleys for a total cost of $850. If you keep the car, you can't afford not to do it.
Q: Is there a factory navigation system for a 2003 Honda Accord LX?
I have a 2003 Honda Accord DX that came with the factory single disc cd player, but i would like to upgrade to a factory navigation system. Is there any years that will fit my car? Also, is this even possible?
A: Yes there is factory navi for the 2003 Accord. If you were to buy all the parts it will run into the thousands of dollars and hours of labor. It just isn't feasible. Your best option is to get yourself an aftermarket unit.
Good Luck

Q: What type of FM Transmitter Do You Use With Your 2003 Honda Accord?
I am trying to pick a good FM transmitter for my iPod. Many of the stronger units attach at the bottom and I don't think they will fit in the area designed for the lighter in my Honda (it is a 4 door model).
Did anyone try the hondalink? I was told that my car was too old. Also did anyone just get a line put in their car instead of using the FM transmitter?
A: I just put a direct link into the back of my stereo! FM transmitters are crappy all of them are. The take a great digital sound and compress it to sound like crap!
Q: What should i consider before buying HID lights for my 2003 Honda Accord?
What color is best (my car is silver)? How long do the bulbs last? and what kind should i get that will fit to my accord? thank you!
A: Generally, HID lights have an expected lifespan of around 3,000 hours or 90,000 miles (most people consider them a lifetime bulb)...
The color of the HID bulb is related to its Kelvin rating...for example, the purple HIDs are 14000K and the white bulbs are 4300K...I do not think that the Kelvin rating affects the longevity of the bulb, but I do know that the higher the Kelvin rating, the less bright the projection will be...For example, the 4300K bulbs are much brighter and give you better visibility, where as the 14000K bulbs are very blue/purple but they are not as bright as the 4300K
I personally love the higher Kelvin bulbs as far as looks are concerned...I have a silver Audi and and right now the stock HIDs are a medium blue color that really looks clean
Q: 2003 Honda Accord AutomaticTransmission Problem?
My 2003 Honda Accord has a automatic transmission problem. The car works fine in 1st, 2nd and Drive but it won't shift into the D-3 gear. If you lock it in 2nd and accelerate up to 40 MPH and then put it into Drive and let off it will slowly shift into Drive. After you are in Drive it will shift down to D-3
for passing. Does anyone know what the problem is and is it a simple fix or do I need a complete transmission rebuild?
The car has a V-6 engine.
A: Let the dealer check it out
Q: O2 sensor gone out on 2003 honda accord?
I have a honda accord that the engine light keeps going on. Well it comes on for a litlte, then it will go back off for a while, then come right back on. I took the car to autozone and they said my O2 sensor was out. Im without a job right now and times are hard. Im just wondering if I wait a month or so to fix this situation and still drive the car is it going to damage it in any way? The honda dealer wants to charge me 200 dollars for everything to put it on and righ tnow I dont have that kind of money.
A: The Oxygen Sensor Compares outside air to the amount of air in your exhaust. It is part of the fuel management system on your vehicle. If the light comes and goes, the O2 Sensor is working properly part of the time. As long as the light comes and goes, you should be okay for a month or so. Your fuel economy might drop a little, but shouldn't drop much. My engine light has been showing an O2 code for 2 years off and on, and I still haven't put the O2 Sensor in. I will when the light comes on more frequently. Also before replacing it, it is a good idea to check for an exhaust leak.
Q: what is the easiest way to make my 2003 honda accord coupe louder?
i have heard about glass pack mufflers like cherry bomb...are those good? i am not looking to spend a lot of money but i do want it to sound good.
A: Myself added a cat-back system which was a custom made stainless steel 3.5" to a 4" muffler, this increased the sound alot but no enough to be silly sound, but def noticeable.
Other options would be to remove the cat altogether.

plenty on there see which sound you like then ask person which system they have if it isn't on the write up,also join an accord forum to see which is the best place to get a system and the best places to get them from.
Q: The doors on My 2003 honda accord will not lock or unlock?
When i press the unlock button on my key the doors does not unlock but all the lights do come on. I hear the a noise in the door like it is attempting to unlock but something is stoping it or slowing it down. When i try to lock it by pressing the key nothing happens. I am wondering if it is the actuator that is bad, if so how much is it to repair? and how difficult is it to replace? Thank you in advance.
A: I had the same problem (2004 Accord) and took it to the dealer once the key locked up in the door and I thought I would have to go through the trunk. They told me that they needed to replace the door lock actuator which was ridiculously expensive, total with labor was almost 300 bucks (I would have to check but I believe the part was $140 from honda). I don't know how difficult of a repair it is...Hope that helps.
Q: 2003 Honda Accord; How do I access the cruise main switch to replace it? My Haynes book is unclear.?

Q: How can I change the headlight unit on a 2003 Honda Accord 4 cyl ?
I busted the whole unit on a fire hydrant. I need to replace the whole thing. It is on the drivers side. How are you supposed to take the the whole unit out?
A: my best way, just because I don't know everything and would do this way, is to go down to autozone and find a 2003 book that had the cover off and read up on changing the headlight assy. Memorize it and go change it. Some autozones might even let you make a copy of the page. I've even asked them to take the plastic cover off so I could read a certain page. Use autozone or other carparts places as a library.
Q: What do I need to install Xenon Lights on a 2003 Honda Accord?
Do I just buy the bulbs, or are there other parts that I need? What are the best kind of xenon lights to buy? Thanks.
A: well if you are talking about the "xenon" bulbs that you can get on ebay for >$10, then its just bulbs and none are that great... those types of bulbs have a higher wattage usually and has the risk of melting stock harnesses if a relay is not used... but if they are staying halogen, i suggest piaa
now if you are talking about hid lights, you need ballast and bulbs and also suggest having a relay to turn them on because the use a lot more power when they turn on but then level of to usually 35w... however with hids in reflector housing lights that were intended for halogen bulbs, they tend to create glare for other motorists... the sure way to not blind others with hids is a retrofit projectors in there... they make aftermarket projector lights for that type of accord, but the projectors are usually pretty crappy... but with those projector lights, you can always buy projectors from a car that had hids, and swap them with some modification to the mounting points for the projector to the rest of the headlight... fx35 projector would probably fit and because there was a recall, they are pretty cheap to get now... and from that you can us oem parts for ballast and bulbs from a hid equiped car
Q: I just bought a 2003 Honda Accord and my dash lights on the radio?
are not lighting up. The instrument cluster's light work fine but the console part with the radio does not light up. Also my little sensor that tells the lights to turn on when it gets dark does not work also. Could this be a fuse?
A: it could be. but instead of worying about it you should just take it to ur mechanic. U dont really have to take it to the honda dealership cuz they are usually expensive. take it to a nearby private mechanic or something and see what can be done. it shouldnt be a major problem
Q: What do you think about the 2003 Honda accord 4 door?
I really wanted a 2 door, because they look ten times better than the four door, but I found a four door fully loaded for a really good price from a private owner who took really good care of their car! I am considering getting the four door and see how that works out! Any suggestions?
A: Ciara,
I was just in a similar situation - great car, I know the owner and I know he took great care of it. I'm a practical 46 y.o. with 2 kids. I love many 2 door cars but the 4 door is just more comfortable for the whole family. I'm not an old 46 year old (my kids still invite me to go to concerts with them and I don't have a gut) but I don't kid myself into believing I'm 26.
In my case the car is an EX, V-6 with a spoiler. The 2003 Accord is pretty awkward looking without the spoiler but bearable. If the car is in great shape and the price is good, I don't think I'd pass it up.
Good luck on your decision.
