Q: Can you see into the engine from the wheel well in all 2003 honda crv's?
i noticed that you can see into the engine if you look through the wheel well of my crv and wondered if that was normal or if i got ripped off in my purchase. i know other cars are completely covered so i was wondering if honda crvs and supposed to be the same way.

A: Most cars have a splash guard in place to prevent puddles from causing too much trouble. Yours probably was removed by a mechanic, or previous owner. You can ask a honda dealer, or a local mechanic, but it is probably missing. This should cause little trouble at most times, other than deep puddles ,or hard rains

Q: My panic button on my 2003 Honda CRV goes off all the time without me activating it. Why?

A: Since the panic button and the security alarm basically have the same sound and response it would help to determine if the problem is with the remote or with the security system. Without sounding condescending, a better definition of 'all the time' could help narrow it down. if the alarm is going off with the car unattended then it could be that one of the doors is not closing all the way or one of the door switches is not working properly and if thats the case any road vibration from a vehicle passing by can trigger the car alarm to go off. More often than not alarms that go off by themselves are due to bad door switches. if it only happens when you are near the car and holding the remote it could be a problem with the remote battery or with the remote itself triggering the panic mode. Have you tried using another remote/spare key and leaving the one you are using at home? that would narrow it down to a bad remote. I would recommend you make a note of the time, place and conditions when the panic mode/alarm activates to find out what conditions are common. That would help with getting the answer to your question. hope that helps

Q: Honda CRV 2003 Tire Pressure?
I dunno what pressure must my tires be for the Honda CRV 2003 Model. Please tell me since now it is currently on 26psi. Should be 30psi or more psi's on 2 tires or all 4 tires. Please tell me as im not sure.

A: They should be between 34-36 on all 4 tires.

Q: I need new front tires on my all wheel drive 2003 honda crv. Do I need to change all four?

A: The only time you should ever replace only two tires is if you have fwd or rwd. However, since you have all wheel drive, it would be best to buy all four new ones. That way you are perfectly balanced and it wont cause early tire wear.

Q: My Honda CRv 2003 Engine Check lighted up code 036 undocumented code what does that mean?
My macanic said it was undocimented so he cleared it and if it shows up again to let him know and i might have to take to the dealer? it just returned 40,021 milies on it ?what does that code mean and why?

Q: how do i change a headlight bulb on 2003 honda crv?

A: Usually if you can't follow what the owner's manual says, the easiest way is to get to the back of the headlight unit, you'll see a clamp like piece that holds the actual bulb. It should have three wires coming from it. You either need to squeeze, or turn it to remove it. (Like a prescription bottle.) Pull it out of the housing, pull the old bulb out and push the new bulb in. DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BULB. Finger oils deteriorate it. Put the bulb in the housing, replace the "Retainer ring" (The one you twisted or squeezed to remove) and you should be good to go...

Q: Honda CRV 2003 Opinion?
When Buying a Second Hand Honda CRV 2003 Which is the best colour to choose from White,Brown OR Grey? Which will be better in the long run and which is the commopn colour bought by consumers ?

A: I'd go with Gray. White is too contemporary for this car. And tan/brown is a very bad color choice for this car. The most common color purchased was white out of these three colors. In the long run Gray will be best. It is better looking, doesn't absorb or reflect heat, and you can see where you waxed when you are waxing the car. Not easy on the other colors. GOOD LUCK WITH YOU HONDA! =]

Q: how do you change the brake light on a 2003 honda crv?

A: there is a black pin on the inside of the tailgate. Take a smooth knife like object and pop the off. The panel should come off easily. After you pull the panel off, change the bulb and pop everything back in place. By the way, the bulbs are a pain to find unless you are going to the dealer. Take the current bulb to Auto Zone and they'll find its equivalent. From what I remember, I didn't pay more than $4 for mine.

Q: 2003 Honda CRV manual, makes grinding noise occasionally while changing to reverse gear.it disappear on neutrl?

A: Most cars do not have a synchronized reverse gear. The solution would be to shift in another gear before changing to reverse without releasing the clutch. However, if this is something that just *recently* occurred, it could point to a problem.

Q: Auto Refinance - Honda CRV 2003, Charlotte, NC - Credit Union?
I have a Honda CRV - 2003 Model, and I am looking for refinancing it. $ amount needed is $ 7000. I have a pretty Ok CREDIT HISTORY, with a score of 681... What are the best bank or crdit union which may give me beter rate....and what rate would I expect...

A: Not sure in your area, but owing less than $7k is going to make it difficult for you to refinance your auto loan. Most lenders prefer you have over 10K in the loan. Not saying it's not possible, but a local CU is best. Go here to find one: http://www.ncua.gov/indexdata.html

Q: I have a 2003 honda CRV ,and the lock on the drivers side don't work. Has anyone dealt with this problem?

A: I just got a honda ex 2003 less than two weeks ago and my drivers side door didn't lock with the remote but it did with the key so I took it to the dealership and they fix it.

Q: when should the timing chain be changed on a 2003 HONDA CRV?

A: Starting in 2003 Honda changed the engine to be driven by a Timing Chain as appossed to a Timing Belt. All Honda's 98' and older that have a Timing Belt should be replaced every 7 years or 105,000 miles or every 60,000 miles in severe conditions, However with your vehicle having a Timing Chain it never requires replacement other than if you should have a specific problem.

Q: how to change a 2003 Honda CRV water pump?

A: You should purchase a repair manual. Autozone should have one in stock. Just read up on the water pump remove/replace section. I think it will probably say something like Raise the vehicle and support it on jack stands. Remove the wheel (on the side of the vehicle where the belts are) It is a really good idea to replace water pump and timing belt at the same time. If you don't know how to replace a timing belt... you may be better off paying a mechanic. When you take the timing belt off, there is no room for error. You can't be off by one cog or else the job will have to be done over. But if you insist on doing this job, you'll want to start will the engine at top dead center number one piston on compression stroke. If you are already lost. Stop and take your car to a mechanic. If you are still with me - drain the coolant and start taking the drive belt(s) off, you know - power steering, alternator, air conditioner, etc. Once these are out of the way, you can start taking off brackets that are in the way. You'll probably have to support the engine with a jack while you take the engine mount out of the way. If this all sounds hard, it is. But you haven't gotten to the really hard part yet. You have to make sure that the cam or cams don't move after you take the timing belt off. You'll need to mark the position of the crankshaft and cam or cams if you have dual over head cams. if you do have dual overhead cams, this makes it even tougher. Because they have to be perfectly positioned so that the crank and both cams are at top dead center compression stroke number one piston.
