Q: How much should a water pump replacement be on a 2005 Honda CRV including parts and labor?

A: $526.47

Q: How do you change the transmission fluid on a 2005 Honda CRV AWD?

A: i always pull the tranny pan. if you loosen the bolts strategically you can determine where the fluid will come out so you can catch it all in a drain pan. then once the pan is drained drop it the rest of the way off and wipe it clean inside. then remove the filter and replace it with a new one. be sure to have the new parts before doing this or it will leave you stranded. usually it takes 5 to 6 quarts when you change the fluid and filter. make sure you get the correct fluid that is crucial to the life of tour trans.

Q: How do I change the air filter in my 2005 Honda CRV?
I have had the car for a year, and I havent put a new air filter in it ever. I had a 89 Honda accord and that I just released clips, took the filter out and put the new one in, but in my CRV its held on by screws and there are hoses attached to the case and the screws wont even come off(I tried) I dont want to pay some mechanic a rediculous amount of money when I have the filter and all the tools, just need a little help figuring this new car out :)

A: You will need to pull the cover up & squeeze the air filter out. My wife has a Honda & it is a pain in the ass

Q: moving ecu in Honda CRV?
has anyboby sucesfully moved the ecu in the passenger side foot well on a 2005/6 Honda CRV ( to gain extra leg room) Barry

A: Not me!!!

Q: I have a 2005 Honda pilot that I love but I live where gas is already above $4.00?
so I decide to trade my truck in for either the Honda crv or the Honda Accord which is the safest vehicle of the 2 or which Honda Vehicle is good? I also have 3 kids.

A: I would go for the accord. I am doing the same thing that you are. I have a 06 G.M.C. 1/2 ton pick-up. The honda crv is to small for me. I am used to a big truck and I think I will be happy with the accord. The civic is just to small. I would think where you have 3 kids, you would want the bigger car, other wise you would feel kind of cramped. At the rate they are going with gas, we will all be walking anyway.

Q: Is there a rear deferential fluid that needs to be changed at some point on this CRV? So I was told.?
Honda CRV 2005 I have about 54,000 miles on it now.

A: Yes, it is called by Honda Dual Range fluid, I believe, and if you don't change it it can cause your CRV to have a noise when you make turns, like into a driveway. It sort of a rubbing / shuttering type noise. If I remember it should be change at about 45K miles and again at 90K. Look in your owners manual or check with "the dealer". Most independent shop might not know about this unless they are really good at Honda service and follow their maintenance recommendations. Follow that and it will last a very long time

Q: Honda CRV 2003?
I had a car Before using the factory player as well as the Sony MP3 CDX-V5800. I faced No problems. Now..... I need to fix a Sony MP3 Player into my Honda CRV 2003 since the factory player doesnt play MP3's. So I went to the local retailers and checked whether they can fix it, but they told me they cant , they need to install it into the glove box , but that will be funny and odd--- cause they want to remove my original factory player which i require over there. I need to install it in another place beneath. I need to operate both the factory Player and the Sony MP3 So i have 2 relay's. But it wont get into the CRV. Why cant u install the CD Player into the honda CRV 2003,2004 Or 2005. I had a car before and I was using both players together uisng 2 relay's. No problem. Now im facing a problem. Please tell ur suggestions and ideas in this matter.

A: 1.) Why do you Require both players? 2.) Yes you can have Both installed and working (just need y cables for the antenna and the power/speaker wires) 3.) Without removing the factory stereo you are going to have to mount the other audio unit elswhere, and that is why they are saying the glove box/custom install. You can easily have the factory radio removed, your sony installed and your troubles will be over. there is no law saying you have to keep the factory radio in your car so unless it is a cosmetic issue i would suggest removing the factory radio and installing it right there. the cost of the install will be considerably less expensive. also if you just want an mp3 player you can get an attachment that allows you to connect your ipod to your stereo installed at your local honda dealership (aprox 250 w/instal in the u.s.) i really don't know how else to help you, if you truely want both installed in your vehicle you are going to need to do some serious custom work i would look at a local auto alarm/radio place for this kind of work to be completed (not best buy circut city ect.) and there is a huge probability that your vehicle will need serious repair/parts if you ever decided to trade it in and you want to keep the radio good luck hope i helped a little

Q: How can you make your car run on ethanol?
I have a 2005 Honda CRV. Can you make it run on ethanol? How much would the conversion cost? Hey Roger Dodger - that's exactly the video I saw that got me thinking about this question. Vinod was saying it only cost like $30 to get a car to be flex-fuel. But I was unclear if he meant it was $30 if the car mfr's added the special gear during manufacture. Or did he mean if you currently have a gas car you could covert it for as little as $30. ?? He also mentioned the Ford F150 and other Fords are already flexfuel but the fact is not widely known. I wonder if my CRV is flex fuel. Hmm.

A: If you want to run up to 15 percent ethanol, change nothing, just run it. If you want to run a higher mix you will need to change most of the seals that the fuel contacts. Ethanol eats the standard seals. You may need to re-chip the brain-box to allow for more O2 in the exhaust. Readjust ignition timing for best performance, and enjoy. By the way, your mileage will plummet. A 10 percent mix on most cars gives a 20 percent drop in mileage. Welcome to the lie of ethanol reducing our dependence on foreign oil. We try this during every fuel shortage, and almost everybody forgets by the next one. So don't do it to save fuel. Do it for fun if you want to. Good luck.

Q: So owners of a Honda Odessy or Crv (are those the initials??
We have retired and are planning on going from two cars to one car.. Please share your experience with either of these two vehicles. I had a Honda I drove for 247,000 miles and loved it. So we are sure about the Honda, just need help with the one. What is your mileage like? We would probably get a 2005 to a 2007. Please share. Thanks in advance for your input.

A: I just bought a Honda CRV and love it! I am getting about 22 mpg in the city. It is a comfy, easy to drive and very safe car. My auto insurance actually went down by $150 every 6 mos! The agent said that it is the safest car out there.

Q: Honda CRV vs. Jeep Liberty?
As a first car, which is better all around? I am looking at small SUVs that have 4WD, both would be used, probably a 2005 or a 2006. Please include details about comfort, gas mileage, and smoothness of ride of whichever car you prefer!

A: Liberty is junk. The Honda CR-V is just better in almost every way, it gets better gas miles, it's more reliable and it has higher resale value. The Honda CR-V is definitely one the best SUVs in it's class, if not the best. The Jeep Liberty is the worst.

Q: when is the best time to buy a used car?
Honda CRV 2005

A: The used car market is greatly different from the new car market. There really isn't a "best" time to buy a used car, such as new cars when new models are coming out. But, depending on what you are buying, SUV's tend to drop in value/price in the summer, convertables tend to drop value/price in the winter, sedans and trucks pretty much stay constant. Look for a dealer that has a lot of the same model/year used vehicles, for they bought a group of cars, typically at a lower price, and tend to want to turn those quickly.
