how do you remove the seats from a honda crx 1991
A: B20vej1 is correct. I removed the seats in my 89 crx many times. Its just (4) 12mm bolts each. There is a thin cable which has some play that you have to unplug from its connector (really easy) but you can pull the seat out some before you disconnect it. It is the cable for the seat belt sensor alarm. There is one under each seat. I didn't bother reconnecting them because they just give the beeping when you start to drive without your seatbelt fastened. My crx has no airbag so it has nothing to do with airbags.

i have honda crx 1991 which i want to put racing seats but my budget is $250. i live in san diego and i want some racing seats that are cheap and that are respectable in the racing community....thanks
A: For under 250, you'll get cheap seats.
Cheap seats that will break, snap, or otherwise fall apart, in an accident.
Seriously, that's 125$ per seat. Do you trust your life to a part that cost 125$? I wouldn't. No one with a bit of common sense would.
Racing seats that are respectable?
1. Don't put "racing seats" in a CRX. It's not a racing vehicle, so you create an oxymoron by doing so.

Something like that. Maximum amount of protection. Minimal amount of weight.
That is a true, respectable racing seat. Anything you're going to find for your price range, is purely cosmetic. Not a single benefit in performance, weight reduction, or safety.
And anyone that looks at it, will know that it's just a cosmetic upgrade. In the world of racing....there's no respect for cosmetics.

I'm planning on buying a 1991 crx si and i'm just wondering what kind of stuff can i put in my crx to upgrade the engine power. the budget is around 2K.. no turbo, nothing like that.. just want some info on other stuff that i could upgrade my car wid.. all motor that is.
A: single cam in the crx is good....get a skunk 2 cam...aem pullies...valves and retianers...bull frog head....chip the ecu....i/h/e...change the piston to the dual cam zc pistons...it will give you a high compression and more power....96 ex intake manifold.....good enough to run 13s and still be a sleeper in disguise...

A: It's either not getting spark or not getting fuel. If you hold a spark plug wire in a rag and keep the metal contact a couple inches away from a metal surface while someone cranks the engine over, you should get a spark to jump from wire to metal surface. If it's getting spark it's probably your fuel pump.
Although a fuel pump is somewhat expensive, bear in mind I've seen CRXs run over 250,000 miles. I know of one that ran over 400,000 miles.

I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden my rpms meter drops to 1 and back up, what do you think whats wrong??
A: It is definitely electrically caused. I was running my CRX on nothing but the battery after the alternator failed and found that when the voltage got low enough the first thing to stop working was the dash instruments including the tachometer and speedometer. The engine kept running though I knew I was on seriously borrowed time. Luckily enough for me I made it back home and got the battery on the charger again.
However... 1000rpm is far too low to be correct at 70 mph! The tach should be reading closer to 4000rpm at that speed unless you have an HF model. Obviously 1rpm is a bit ridiculous too. 70mph should be well below any limiter as well.

It sounds like it wants to "catch", but doesn't. I have a battery charger on and it is showing that the battery is full. Any ideas?
This is an automatic transmission.
A: You probably don't need to replace the entire distributor system. I had a 91 crx si and I replaced the ignitor which supplies the spark and it fired right up. It actually went out on me twice while I owned it. The complete distributor is about 400 new but you probably don't need the whole thing. Get a Haynes or Chilton repair manual for about 20 bucks. Its money well spent. It will help you locate and troubleshoot common problems.

A: Its your wiring harness, Over time they can rub and vibrate enough for the plastic protective casing to were through, to expose bare metal ,positive touches negative and causes plastic to melt, smells like burnt rubber..

A: go to a junk yard or go on line to a salvage yard in sunny California and get yourself a new roof panel. unbolt the old one and bolt in the new one

Q: I want to know the best engine for a 1991 Honda Crx swap?
but I need to know what will allow me to keep A/C. I don't think the K20a swap allows you to keep the a/c. Does the 18 type r engine allow a/c and is there any good links to show me how to set up the a/c on the swap... I can find swap links just need an a/c link. Plus very little hood modding the k20a requires a specific hood and I like mine.
A: very easy do any b series swap and u will get ur ac or if not a b series then a d series vtec. i would go with a comon b16a for a crx si very easy swap

I live around Peoria IL. im looking to buy a 1988 to 1991 Honda CRX. I have some trade in value in my current car is there anyway I could get one from a dealership? Seems to be hard to find.
A: I highly doubt you will find one at a dealership, they are way too old and rare. Your best bet will be Craigslist, Autotrader, Cars.com, or even eBay.

A: not alot of info on what you want is the crx si-dx? for dx lookk for dx to si swap online hybridhonda.com needs 4 injector and two wires for dizzy then now a si ecu will run the b16-b18 just fine the b16 is vtec so vtec will not kick in but will run good 88-91si ecu will run it 86-89 integra will run better with the b20-stock for a easy swap on wires just use si set-up for the b20 non-vtec use the mount kit for the 88-91 b16-b17-b18 mount kit for the cable trans kit acura teg- shift cable & throttle cable. 90-92 teg axles inter shaft and the axle shaft use 86-89 teg keep it obd0 for intake and you will be set.
