Q: Where is the emergency fuel filler door opener on my 2005 Honda Civic?
I went to get gas in my 2005 Honda civic this morning. The fuel filler door opener wouldn't open the fuel filler door (the opener or latch release in side the front drivers side on the floor). Is there an emergency release and if so, where do I find it? I 've read my owners manual cover to cover and there is no reference to one Thanks! By where, I really mean I am totally clueless and need answers with a lay person's language. Sorry...rear orbitor? I couldn't tell you where that is or even what it is. Thanks! And if I do use this release, will it only work once? Or can it be used over until I can afford to get the other one fixed? Well, it turns out that MY honda civic doesn't have an emergency fuel filler door opener. when I pulled back the carpet, I found the cable that was attached directly to the door opener itself...I have to twist the door opener to get it out and then the door pops open. Once I get it open, I have to manuever the thing back in to the little hole and twist it so it won't fall out or the little door doesn't stay latched. My dealer wants $79 just to do a "diagnostic" on the thing. That's insane. Any ideas? Someone suggested two sticky backed magnets and a peice of cellophane tape.

A: I'd open the trunk and pull the carpeting back a little on the side of the trunk where the fuel door is. Look for a handle attached to a wire cable to pull.

Q: what is the difference between a regular honda civic lx coupe and the lx special edition coupe? 2005 model?
im looking at buying a 2005 honda civic coupe from a dealership and the window sticker says its a special edition. what is different from a regular lx and the special edition? thanks in advance

A: It's basically the same as the regular LX, but it has alloy rims, leather steering wheel, trunk spoiler, exhaust finisher, upgraded cloth fabric and I believe a moon roof.

Q: 2005 Honda Civic. How do i replace the bulb inside the cruise control on the steering wheel?
its an external switch. i can easily remove the switch from the steering wheel but i cant get at the bulb.

A: the bulb is part of the switch and you need to replace the switch to fix a burnt out bulb. the airbag has to be removed to get to the switch from inside the steering wheel. hope that helps

Q: Can my regular 2005 Honda Civic take 10 percent Ethanol gasoline without problem?
The Gas City in the town where I work has an option on the pump now for gasoline with 10 percent ethanol. It's way cheaper than the regular gasoline. My question is, can I use it? Will it damage my car? Do I need to make some adjustments or improvements to my car in order to have it take this sort of fuel?

A: yes. All cars are now (and have been) E10 safe. My 94 Civic runs on E10. All gasoline in NYC is E10. Good Luck...

Q: How much would an engine for a 2005 honda civic hybrid cost?
Hah sorry im not very smart when it comes to cars.

A: new about $ 1000,00 but if u get it used maybe 400 or 600

Q: Im driving a 2005 honda civic sedan and its making weird noises?
Sometimes when im driving, it seems like my passenger side wheel is making a grinding noise? But sometimes i dont hear it. And it also goes away when i step on my brakes. Is this the brakes?

A: To be honest, you need to take it in! I think that it could be your wheel bearings. Mine made noises when I turned and when I drove. They grinded and I took it in before my wheel had the possibility of falling off. Its dangerous and you want to take care of your car especially since its a 2005, it can last you soooo frickin long!

Q: How do I take the radio out of a 2005 honda civic dx value package?
Is there a way to get just the radio section out without taking out the entire dashboard?

A: you smash it with a hammer until it falls out then duck tape it back together! =) it really works@!

Q: How do u change the rear bumper of a 2005 Honda civic?
I want to go to pick-n-pull to get a new bumper but I am not quite sure how to take it off or put it back on. Any one know how?

A: get a chiltons manual, it is step by step with pictures.

Q: How can i find a dash removal diagram on a 2005 honda civic?
im trying to install a new soun system in my car but i cant get the dash off.

A: Check out this link. I hope it's what you are looking for. http://documents.victorytechnologies.com//documents/product/99-7899.pdf

Q: How fast does a 2005 honda civic si from 0 to 60?
& a lamborghini gallardo? Ok so i'm not trying to race the two; it's just that i was looking at the lamborghinis and i could find anything about how fast it was in 0-60 and same with the si

A: A Gallardo LP560-4 can sprint from 0-60 in about 3.5 to 3.7 seconds. All the Gallardos can do it in under 4 secs. An '05 Civic Si does the same in upwards of seven seconds. I don't recommend a race between the two. You can "brag" that your car (if the Civic is yours) is about one-tenth the price of the Lamborghini and probably gets more than twice the gas mileage, though.

Q: What are the maintenance costs of a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Compared to a standard gasoline engine car, what maintenance costs would a hybrid car involve?

A: I would suspect the same cost since any hybrid still needs gasoline and includes the same parts needed for a standard gasoline engine. However, the frequency of maintenance cost would obviously be less since you'll have the addition of an electric motor providing some of the energy to turn your transmission gears.

Q: Can somebody put together a list of audio system (like which amplifiers and speakers) for a 2005 Honda Civic?
Its a 2005 Hybrid Civic i would perfer it under 300 all together but go nuts

A: under 300, good luck, if you want quality, better keep spending. do the boston s65rc in the front doors, sx95 in the back, cheap bass, I'd recommend power bass s-12's on a power bass asa400.2 ran at 4 ohm stereo. this will still run closer to 600 for the equipment if you to the install yourself. but it will sound a lot better than anything you get for 300. buy a lil at a time, you'll be happier in the end,

Q: 2005 Honda Civic leaking water in driver floorboard?
My drivers side floorboard is completely saturated with water and I am completely boggled. I don't think its the heating core because it's on the drivers side not the passenger side, I checked to make sure my a/c lines aren't leaking in and the window is not leaking either. The water started from the middle of the floorboard and accumulates outwards so it can't be coming from the dashboard. I've just ran out of ideas on what it could be.

A: Could be rain water. That leaks from the bottom part of the windshield or the vents. If it is somewhat oily, is coolant and is the heater core, If is just water unless you have plain water in the engine, is just plain rain water seeping in the cabin. Condensation... could be, but has to be a hell of a humid and cold day to get a noticeable drip.

Q: Is it possible to put a Z06 or ZR-1 supercharged engine into a 2005 Honda Civic?
And if it is possible about how much would that cost? Yea im not worried about the money! Its just that i want a fast car and a corvette in my opinion looks ugly. And a honda with a z06 engine should be able to take a corvette with the same engine.

A: Politely speaking, I seriously doubt a Vette engine could fit into the Civic's engine compartment. And even if you could fit it in - you would have tons of driveability, engineering and durability issues - such as 1) unbalanced weight distribution - Vette engine is a heck of a lot heavier than standard Civic powerplants and would make the Civic really way too front heavy (as a FWD car, the Civic already has about 63-37 front/rear weight distribution) - which would affect driveability as well as excessive wear on tires and suspension. 2) transmission wouldn't match or even fit - the Civic has a FWD transaxle, the Vette engine is designed for a traditional front engine/rear drive setup or layout. If you want a fast car that will work reasonably well and at a reasonable cost - get a Mustang V8. Slapping a big, 5.7L V8 engine into a car designed for a sub-2 liter powerplant defies engineering and technical sense.
