I've never bought a NEW car and wanted to know if there's any other place other than the honda dealership to buy a 2006 civic ??
anyone know where doug lives ??
A: ITS EASY. GO TO CONSUMERREPORTS.ORG ONCE THERE YOU GO TO BUYING A NEW VEHICLE. FOR 10 OR 12 DOLLARS YOU CAN BUT A PRINT OUT OF THE 2006 HONDA CIVIC AND IT WILL GIVE YOU THE EXACT COST OF YOUR CIVIC. IT WILL ALSO GIVE YOU THE COST OF EVERY OPTION IN THE CIVIC THAT THE DEALER PAID. ADD UP THE COSTS. THEN IT WILL TELL YOU THE DEALER HOLDBACK PRICE. SUBTRACT THAT FROM YOUR VEHICLE PRICE. THEN IT WILL TELL YOU DEALER INCENTIVES AND YOU SUBTRACT THAT FROM THE DEALER PRICE. AND THAT IS WHERE YOU START YOUR NEGOIATIONS FROM. IF YOU WANT ME TO WALK YOU THROUGH IT ON THE PHONE I CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY HOW TO BUY A CAR FROM A DEALER IN UNDER 20 MINUTES WITH LITTLE TO NO HASSLES. JUST EMAIL ME WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER AT TAMRICK188@YAHOO.COM
Q: Does the coolant added to the new Honda Civic 2006 come with antifreeze?
Last year I bought a new Honda Civic 2006 EX. Now I am planning to visit Sking areas near to my place. I want to know the coolant came with this car contains antifreeze usually or not. I haven't changed my coolant till now.
A: Yes, the factory coolant IS antifreeze. If you need to know your current freeze point, the shop that does your oil changes should be able to test it for you. If you have never added anything to it, you should be OK on a 2006. Have the coolant changed every 3 yrs. or 30,000 miles.
Antifreeze and coolant are the same thing. One liquid that does two jobs.

I love my Honda Civic except that there are 2 blind spots....when you are backing up and on the front because the windshield is so slanted. Not good Honda....hope the newer models corrected this.2006 was the first yr for the new body style

Q: How much should new rotors for my 2006 honda civic cost?
I ran over a metal coil and I believe I bent or shot my rotors, as now whenever I drive the car there is a metal on metal sound. I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow, but I didn't want to get reamed on the price. Also, should I take it to a regular mechanic or honda specific? i'm thinking the honda specific might be more expensive.
A: if you bend a rotor you would know it either you would have no brakes or it would shake im sure you bent something.... rotors vary in prices best to call a parts store and ask any shop would do besides a dealer which would about double your price
Q: How can I lower the driver's seat in my new 2006 Honda Civic Si?
I just bought a new Honda Civic Si coupe. I love the car but have found that I simply need more headroom. The seat is lowered as far as it will go. Is there someone that can make custom seats that could sit lower? HELP!
A: You should have test driven the car before you bought it.Trade cars and get one that fits or take it to an automobile upholstery shop and have them install custom seats.
Q: How many miles per gallon does a 2006 Honda Civic get?
I'm talking a regular civic, not a hybrid.
Thanks!
A: My 2006 Civic gets about 25ish city, 30ish highway.
Q: Does the 2006 honda civic coupe si spoiler work with the lx?
I know that the civic comes with a lip but i want to add a spoiler but I wanna know if the holes made by the lip will be good for the spoiler.
A: No, the holes won't match up.
The easiest thing to do would be to swap trunks, but then the VIN number printed on each part will be different.
Q: Can I install a touchscreen in dash GPS into a 2006 Honda Civic (8th generation) ?
I saw many third party In-Dash GPS exclusively made for new Honda Civic (8th generation) are available in other countries. However, the problem is ALL of them are made for left hand wheel model of Civic and does not fit into Australian made right hand drive Civic model. Would any one please share your recommendation if you happend to know anywhere that i can purchase a well designed In-Dash GPS navigation system for right hand wheel Civic. Many thanks.
A: dealership... if not find a aftermarket built in GPS there should be some for right hand drives out there, but i cant believe that a left hand drive gps wont fit in a right hand drive, i figured the dash would be the same set up

I have HONDA CIVIC 2006. HONDA says that this car comes with EDR ( Event Data Recorder). Can anyone tell where that device is located in the car ? Is it possible to deactivate that ?
Why ? Because.....

A: No it is not possible to deactivate.
"The devices are virtually impossible to disable because their functioning is so tightly integrated with vehicle safety systems such as airbags and anti-lock brakes."

Q: Is it advisable to repair deformed bumper of my 2006 Honda Civic or should it be replaced?
My wife accidentally bashed the lower bumper against a concrete pavement while parking. There's no cracks whatsovever. If this is made of fiberglass, is it possible to pull it off back into place?
A: It is actually made of ABS plastic.
Park it in the sun - get under the car with a long stick - prefer a metal spoon - long handle.
Push the dent out, and it will be as good as new.
Sitting it in the sun makes it a little more flexable
Q: What is the best color for a 2006 honda civic si coupe?
I like white and black the best.
But i am choosing between white, black, and silver.
my friends already have red and blue.
A: White is like the Real type-r llook and plu u can put any color rims and ill still look better have u ever seen a red civic with blue or opposite it looks way better in white n u can match it with everything
Q: How fast is my automatic 2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX?
I have a 147 hp automatic 2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX and I want to know exactly how fast it is compared with other cars in its group. What is its speed compared with other cars?
It also has a digital spedometer, what is its limit? 140? 160? I heard it was 160 on the dash, but since it is digital I am not sure?
Last, the gears have Drive, Drive3, 2, and 1? What exactly are those? I often drive fast and switch to Drive3 to go faster....is that harmful to my car if I time the shift???
Please go into detail with the answers so I can finally stop wondering about all those questions?
BONUS: 2007 Honda Civic Coupe vs. 2007 Nissan 350Z??????
A: You have a 1.8L 140hp engine. Not that fast. I have 2.1L 91 Prelude SI that came stock with 145hp. 15 years apart and mine has 5 more hp. You pretty much match up with the old school early-mid 90's Hondas/Acura and non turbo mitsubishis. Your tach will probably be around the 140-160 range, but you wont get up there thanks to the speed governor.
D-D3 is a gear selection setting, the higher you go the later the transmission will shift for a more "sportier" feel. It just makes it seems like you're going fast, but you're actually just shifting at a higher RPM. 2 keeps the tranny in 2nd gear, good for when you're stuck in snow or trying to get around in snow.
A 350Z would eat you alive. It's a 3.5 V6 that makes 300HP. If you wanted a faster car and keep it in the honda family, you couldve gotten an S2000, 5g Prelude, RSX-S, or if you insist on a civic the SI.
Q: I have a 2006 Honda Civic Automatic Transmission, recently I noticed a fairly big lag when it downshifts from?
2nd to 1st gear? It also does it when I'm accelerating between 1st and 2nd gear, but the jerk isn't as noticeable compared to when its downshifting. Any ideas on what might be causing this?
A: your transmission could be slipping. try to do a tranny flush and fill it with new honda cert. tranny fluid
or it cld be ur torque converter if you do a lot of stop and go and hill climbing
if it's still under warranty-bring it back to Honda and they shld check it out and fix it b/c there should still be a power train warranty
