Q: Is the 2008 Honda Civic Si coupe a good daily driver?
I'm buying a new 2008 honda civic si coupe. I want to hear people opinions. I'm 18, I have the money for it I have been saving for a while. I always dreamed of buying a civic. How is it for a daily driver?
I've driven it I love the car. But does anybody who already owns one encounter any problems electronically or mechanically.
A: Congratulations on the SI! come join the 8th gen civic forum, tons of guys and gals with the same civic.
http://www.8thcivic.com/
one of the most common problems is the 3rd gear. you can read alot more about it there. other wise its a great car. i do a round trip of 120 miles a day in mine. Theres a guy on the forum that already has 300,000+ miles on his civic.
Q: adding an exhaust to my 2008 honda civic?
I wanted to know what was an affordable Honda Civic Exhaust system that i could buy for the 2008 EX? no fart cans, one that will add some power and noise but not too pricey?
A: well just a heads up it will void your warranty but if thats not a problem i would definatley hit up http://www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/category-70_86/product-826/index.html paste that into your url and you can see a pic and video clips of that exhauat. and for your future mods go to www.procivic.com because that is a cheap parts store
Q: Install an XM Satellite Radio on my 2008 Honda Civic DX and need to find the antenna. Not visible?
I purchased an Xpress XM device, and the instructions are asking for me to hook the XM antenna to the vehicle's FM antenna. I walked around my vehicle and cannot locate the antenna. I looked in the rear and the antenna is not visible. If there is a method to install this device utilizing the AUX, that would be much easier for me, perhaps. I have a Honda Civic DX.
A: Your antenna is built into the glass of the vehicle. The connection to the FM antenna is in the back of the in-dash radio.
You shouldn't need to worry about the antenna. I believe the Xpress XM device transmits to your radio over a frequency that you select. For instance, you might select 88.1 on your XM device and also on your radio. The device would be heard over your radio by transmitting on that frequency.
Q: Should I trade in my 2008 Honda Civic?
I own a 2008 Honda Civic, and I owe $7,000 more than what it is worth. I want to trade it in for a older car so that my monthly payments will be cheaper. Is this a smart idea? What are the pros/cons?
A: IT all depends on what car you want to get besides the Civic. Just remember that honda is the top most reliable vhiecle in the market. with the best resale value. Even though the payments for the car are costly . In the end , its better to pay the monthly payments on the car then having in the car in the shop all the Time. I would think about that honda tend to last way past 150k , so you will be saving alot of money on gas (40 mpg highway) and you dont have to worry about having the car in the shop all the time.
Q: Question about 2008 Honda Civic Navigation System?
I'm thinking about getting a 2008 Honda Civic. Should I get it with the Navigation System? It seems a little pricey, and I've never had a gps before. Will I be missing much if I don't get the Navigation System?
A: I decided not to get the gps because I also thought it was too expensive. I decided if I wanted a navigation system I could buy I stand alone system which I could use in different cars. Spending less money for a more versatile system seemed like a better choice to me.
Q: Is a 2008 Honda Civic sedan too small for a couple with a baby?
My wife and I are thinking of buying a Honda Civic, but we're concerned about the ease of putting in a car seat and transporting all the baby "stuff".
A: I had an 07 civic and I loved it with my first son. We had no problems getting him in and out and there was still room on either side ( we had him in the middle since that's the safest) for passengers. The trunk is an OK size but if you plan on taking a full sized stroller it will take up most it. Once I had our second baby we did get an odyssey cause we needed more room. If you are going to have more kids anytime soon, I would get something a little bit bigger, but if this is your one and only, I would go for it, it is a great car and it gets REALLY good gas mileage!
Q: Theres a yellow light thats lit on the dashboard of my 2008 Honda Civic, what does it mean?
Theres a yellow light with an exclamation point in parenthesis lit on the dashboard of my honda civic, what does it mean?
A: It's your TPMS... top off your tires with air.
Q: Is the 2008 Honda Civic a good car for a teen?
My dad is getting me a 2008 civic si sedan thats about 13,000. Is this a good car? any problems???
A: YES, they are wonderful. That's my car aswell.
They drive well, great mileage, and very safe. And quite pretty looking, too.
Q: Is a 2.9% interest rate on a brand new 2008 Honda Civic Coupe EX a good rate?
I just bought a brand new 2008 Honda Civic Coupe EX and my interest rate came out to 2.9%. Is that a really good interest rate for a 28 year old single male?
A: The rate is excellent. However, was it the cheapest way to buy the car? What was the factory rebate you have up to get the rate. Depending on how much you are financing and your down payment, sometime you are better off with a higher rate but a bigger rebate.
Assuming the low interest rate was the better of the 2 options, that rate is very good.
Q: Should I buy a new 2008 Honda Accord EXL or 2008 Honda Civic EXL?
I am undecided about buying these 2 cars. I love the Honda Accord but the Civic gets better gas mileage. Which one should I buy?
A: I had to decide between the 08 Accord and the 08 Civic as well. (i got the Civic)
As far as gas mileage goes, we all know the civic is better on gas. The Civic i have gets about 35mpg average, which is really good. I do mostly highway driving, probably 85% highway, 15% city, so getting about 35mpg is great. Fill ups cost less and on 11 gallons of gas i go as far as my other cars go on around 18 gallons of gas.
As far as looks goes, if your buying the Civic EX-L sedan, then i would just say go with the Accord EX-L. To me, and to many people, the Civic sedan has an awkward looking rear end, and the Accord looks a lot more elegant then the Civic sedan. If you don't mind getting a coupe, get a Civic coupe! I love the coupe, i get a lot of compliments on it, it looks great. I do like the look of the Accord coupe, but its not worth the price if you ask me. With rising gas prices today, i'd rather save that money for gasoline. I think most people would, and when the Civic EX-L coupe gets better gas mileage and still looks good, why not?
Both are reliable, so in the end it really comes down to what YOU want. Do you want to spend a little more and get less gas mileage, but gain more room. Or do you want to spend less, get better gas mileage, but have less room. If you don't carry more than 3-4 people around all the time, the Civic should be fine. If your often taking 5 people, you probably want the Accord.
Either one you go for, you can save a little $$$ by knowing the invoice price (the price the dealer paid) for the car.

Civic Sedan Invoice prices:

Honda Accord Coupe Invoice prices:

Honda Accord Sedan Invoice prices:

if you know the invoice price of the car, you can get a better deal. I would start with maybe just the invoice price when negotiating with the dealer, if they say no go up $200 or so each time. Try not to go way over it, you know the price the dealer got it for, so don't let yourself get ripped off!
Good luck on your new car, its a Honda so im sure you'll love its reliability, Civic or Accord you really can't go wrong!
Q: How much should I pay for a 2008 Honda Civic EX-L with navigation and XM radio?
This is the 4-door sedan rather than the 2-door coupe.
I'm heading to the dealership on Wednesday. I'm paying cash and need to know something about what the final price should be. Current or previous Honda salespeoples' opinions are especially appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my question! I appreciate it!
A: The Edmunds True Market Value Price is $22,654. If you have cash, offer the dealer $21,500 out the door and DO NOT MENTION CASH. If the dealer accepts it, show him the check for $21,500, walk to the cashier and drive away one happy camper.
Q: How to run subs off of an 2008 honda civic ex stock radio?
I have a Kicker Solobaric L7 12'' and an 800w Pioneer amp that i want to install in my civic. Is it a hassle? I thought about bringing my car to a local audio store and just getting them to run all the necessary wires to my stock radio. Hows that sound? Any suggestions on how to go about this?
A: go with what the first guy said but u dont really have to get a new head unit, i kno a guy who has his stock radio in and his system is badass =)
