Q: Engine work on 2009 Honda Civic EX with out voiding the warrenty?
I have a 2009 Honda Civic EX automatic transmission. I was curious to see what kinda of engine work i could get done to increas HP top speed and acceleration but still keep the warrenties. Can anyone help?
A: If you read your warranty you should find that altering any of the above will affect the warranty relating to the thing you have modified.
For example if you change the injectors the whole drive train warranty will be affected (not necessarily voided) but it would not affect the warranty on you wipers for example.
Also changing any performance items will affect the emmisions from the vehicle also affecting the warranty and could also (if you are unlucky) get you a massive fine from the Environmental Protection Agency or whatever in your state.
Why didnt you buy a more powerful or faster car in the first place?

A: Your parents are crazy to buy you a new car for your first car, i dont care how rich or willing to put themselves in to debt they are. A new driver is going to make mistakes, i dont care who you are and how much youve driven, mistakes cost less on a car that isnt worth anything. Plus all sales tax is much higher on a new car, as is insurance, you have to have full coverage on it, not just liability, sounds like they are buying you a car and paying for you to drive it. Bad news for you, cause you dont learn any lessons or gain any respect for people who pay for things on their own. Im not saying that you should turn down the car, who would. But get something thats a couple thousand dollars, then when you dent it up you can just upgrade to something in a couple years or when ever you can afford to do it. Ive watched friends total brand new cars and then have their parents totally cut them off and ive watched friends total cheap cars and then learn and get a better car.
Q: How can I upgrade my stereo on my 2009 Honda Civic Coupe LX?
The problem I have is that the stereo controls are spread throughout the dash. Let me show you a photo.

A: you dont have to buy a custom dash however, you will need to buy a "dash kit" if you go to any custom car sterio place theyll take care of all that for you... however, sometimes the dash kits can be expensive... also reasearch how expensive they are you dont want the audio place to rip you off telling you the dash kit was 300 bucks ive seen dash kits cost anywhere from 15 - 350 on hondas so... check a website called Metra or google metra dash kit find the specific number of the dash kit on the metra website go to amazon and put that in "Metra dash kit number ______ " see how much it is those audio place love to say there alot when there not

A: All ipods will work fine (except the shuffle) if your using the USB connection in the armrest. If your using the 3.5 mm jack below the volume control, all ipods will work.
Q: On a 2009 Honda Civic where is the iPod USB port?
I think it's supposed to be in the center compartment but it doesn't seem to be there. Maybe it doesn't have it but under the AC controls it says MP3 WMP so I don't know.
A: It's right under the cigarette lighter. It has a little rubber plug in it so it can be hard to miss.

A: For racing, neither one but to answer the question: The Civic Si.
There is very little room to increase the Si 197hp factory K20 engine without upgrading the internals and other stuff. The thing I don't like about this engine is the 139 lb-ft of torque. Other models such as the Mazdaspeed 3, WRX & Evo have a lot more HP and double the torque because they have factory turbos.
The 2009 Accord V6 is one of those engines with cylinder deactivation. Honda made it to run on 3 cylinders OR 4 cylinders when cruising. Probably not a good idea to mod this engine.

A: The SI is going to give you an extra 57 horsepower, which will come at a cost of about 5 MPG. In general, you can expect the SI to be much more responsive and fun to drive. It does not have an option for an automatic transmission.
Interior is comparable to the EX, but the SI gets nifty sport seats with embroidered SI logo. Exterior, nice aluminum rims and a spoiler plus a sticker (!?) to tell you what kind of motor you have.

Go to Honda.com, build the Civic you want, and click on different dealers to have them contact you.
Now, DO NOT GO IN. Just tell them you don't want to waste their time, but DEFINITELY don't want to waste yours, and you're looking for White Civic Sedan LX, period. What's the your best offer OTD (out the door with tax)?
If they won't give you a number, tell them you will go in when NO OTHER dealers give you any quotes over the phone or thru e-mail.
Do this through Cars.com, Edmunds.com, and Carsdirect.com.
Make sure you write down which dealer's what salesperson gave you what kind of deal, 'cause after a while, everyone sounds the same.
If you're in CA, where dealers are everywhere, you should be able to get any color of any Civic for the absolutely best price you can get, as there's no such thing as "limited" or "rare" Civic anymore.
Be patient. Most dealers and salesperson, will call you back in a week after a failed negotiation over the phone or e-mail, to see if they can convince you to buy a car from them.
When you do go in to finalize your deal, MAKE SURE you QUESTION any extra fees when you're signing the final papers/agreement. Usually, they try to stick in a PDI (pre-delivery inspection) for $300 ~ $600, which is BS. No such thing. Tell them you don't want it. YES, you don't want your car inspected before delivery. If they said they can't take it off, or it's already done, tell them you want to buy a car that's not inspected, or need another day to think about it. Usually, they'd know you know what's up, and they'll take it off.
