Q: Where Can I find a Honda Element Year 2003 near the zipcode of 11234?
my dad is looking for a car
in Brooklyn, New York, 11234
A: Also check out my favorite Element owners site, http://www.elementownersclub.com. This is a very active and friendly organization. Tons of information on the Element forum from enthusiatic owners. Don't miss the Northeast Chapter thread which covers the NYC area and the Trading Post thread for Elements for sale.**
Regardless of where you shop, make sure you get heat out of all four dash vents, otherwise you have a plugged heater core. That's a $1200 repair, but there is a recall on certain 2003-2005 models.
**If you get a 404 Error message just click on "forum" at the top of the page, or try again later. There may be a temporary problem with the EOC site.

Q: hi i just buy a honda element 2003 but i need to know how can program my keyless entry remote?
i buy one remote control in a junk yard i though it will work because are same model and year but not some 1 knows how can program my remote thanks
A: if you have an existing remote and you want to add a new one here's how you do it. If you don't have any existing remotes and just have the new one follow the same procedure but in step 5 just turn the key off instead of going through the steps to program the second remote.
1) sit in the drivers seat with all of the doors closed.
2) have both remotes detached from the key chain and available.
3) hold a remote in your left hand. with your right hand turn the ignition key to the ON position (so that the warning lights on teh dash come on; you do not have to start the engine)
when the instrument panel warning ights come on press the "lock" button on the remote. Then turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
4) repeat step #3 three more times without hesitating between steps so that as soon as you turn the ignition key OFF you turn it back ON and press the Lock button on the transmitter.
5) on the 4th time you should hear the door lock click to lock. Do not turn the key OFF at this time--using the same remote press the unlock button and the doors should unlock. switch to the second remote and press the lock button to lock the doors and then the unlock button to open them.
6) turn the ignition key to the OFF position and your remotes will be programmed
hope that helps
Q: 2003 Honda Element Shift Lock?
How do I fix my Honda Element? The shift is locked in Park and will not go into reverse. The release switch works but how do I fix it?
Well, let me give you all the details just in case anyone runs into the same problem. It turned out to be the brake switch! The thing is, I called the Honda dealership and they wanted to charge $192 to replace this. So I called back and the part was $10! So I decided to perform myself. I picked up the part and replaced it in about 10 minutes. Go figure that one out! Also, the old switch was still functional even though I had to tear the locknut up getting it out. The plunger off the switch had eaten a hole in the rubber pad on the brake arm! Did Honda put this pad here on purpose? The new switch had a broader plunger that worked fine. This is the funny part - it was made in Mexico! How much of the famous Honda is made in Japan I wonder?
Stan
A: usually you will have to remove the center console or the steering wheel cover to access the release switch and usually the mechanism just comes un attached or needs some lube like WD-40 so take it apart and fix what u can see and go from there good luck!

Q: center cap for honda element?
Hi. My dad has a 2003 honda element, but recently the center cap inside one of the rims got stolen. He wants to buy another one, but we can't figure out how to order it. The dealerships where I live are no help, and some of the out of town ones said they no longer make that brand ( Theory - Konig). How can we find them on the internet, and how will we know that they'll match the other three on the car?
A: It makes a difference in part numbers if you have the steel wheels or aluminium.
Q: Sell 03 Honda Element and Buy 05 Infiniti G35, or pay off and keep the Honda Element?
I made a decision a few years ago to try and save money & gas by selling off a Lexus RX300 (and a $400+ a month car payment). I decided on a compromise vehicle and bought a 2003 Honda Element. I figured my dogs would like it, it would be easy to clean, and gets decent fuel mileage. It has been a rock-solid, reliable vehicle, although it has 80,000+ miles on it.
However, I now miss having a nicer, more powerful performance car. The Element is spartan, not even having carpeted floors. The Element feels like it will tip over taking any turn at over 15 mph, and it brakes like a dump truck. And, lets face it, it kinda looks like a toaster with big plastic body panels on wheels. I'd like to get something like an 05 Infiniti G35, with 35,000 to 40,000 miles.
After selling the Element and putting some extra money down, I can buy a G35 and have the same monthly payment I have now over a 4 year loan - it would easily fit into my budget. Or, I could also just take that extra money and put it towards paying off the Element, which would then be paid off in about 6 months or so. The Element will probably go for another 2 - 3 years without having any major issues outside of routine maintenance, maybe longer. That's 2-3 years with no car payment, but it's also 2-3 more years minimum I have to drive a vehicle I'm not completely happy with. Seeing that my total daily commute is about 3 miles, it's a tough question.
So - what do you do? Be frugal, keep the Element? Or continue to pay a monthly car payment, but put that hard-earned money to a car you would enjoy much more?
A: I had a 2003 Element that I thoroughly enjoyed, but sold it a few months ago when I got the new car bug. My rationale was to replace the Element while it still had some resale value rather than keep it for a couple more years and get far less for it becaue of age and higher mileage.
As much as I liked the Element, I'm far happier with its replacement and have no regrets. Go for what you really want.
