Q: My 2003 Honda Odyssey resists being shifted from park to any other gear. Why?
This is after being cranked but while sitting still in the driveway.
This happens only sporadically.
A: it can also be an electrical problem, i have a car at work that sometimes wont shift out of park unless you turn off the headlights LOL,
Q: How do I program my remote on Honda Odyssey 2003 for the garage?
A: Here are the instructions http://www.homelink.com/programming/programming.taf?do=instruct&include=gdo_main just follow them step by step and it will work.
Q: How to remove fuse cover in 2003 Honda Odyssey?
I need to check a fuse in the driver's side fuse block of my 2003 Odyssey. The top half of the fuse box doesn't have a cover, but the bottom half does and that's where I need to get into. Usually these things have a clip or something obvious to do to open them, but this one has me stumped. The fuse cover wiggles a little bit but is firmly attached. How to open it up?
I finally gave up took it to the dealer. They showed me. There are clips on both the side (toward the back of the car) and the bottom. You have to kind of bend the side and then the bottom to free the clips, then it pops off. Really dumb design if you ask me.
A: Just pull it out,hard.
Q: 2003 Honda Odyssey won't turn over.?
It won't take a jump either and all the accessories are dead, including the dash lights. Any ideas?
A: if the battery is stone dead it won't jump start. try putting the negative jumper cable to an engine ground rather than putting it to the negative battery post. that way you'll decrease the resistance of going through the batery. any good bolt on the engine will do such as the exhaust manifold or where the end of the black negative cable is bolted to.
make your connections and see if the interior lights on the car come on when you open the door. they should. if so, all of your fuses are good. you may have to let the car that is providing the jump run for a few minutes just to build up a surface charge on the battery to get it to take the jump.
if the interior lights don't come on with the jumper cables hooked up you can check your fuses. it would be extremely rare for a main fuse to blow unless you reversed the cables when hooking the battery up. if the fuses are good the chances are the battery cables are loose or the ignition switch is the problem but I think neither are the case.
hope that helps
Q: Change Oil in Honda Odyssey 2003????
How much oil do I put in??
A: 5 quarts of 5w20.
Q: how to load Honda Odyssey's CD changer?
I have 2003 Honda Odyssey, can some one teach me how to load CD to changer (6)?
A: Make sure the stereo system is on and then have your CD's ready to load.
Press the load button and wait for the display on the face of the Stereo to switch from "BUSY" to "LOAD"
Insert the CD (Label up) into the player.
Repeat for each CD inserted. It will take a bit longer for the display to switch from busy to load as the shuffle has to find the next open slot and it cycles from 1-6 in th process
Quick load is to press and hold the load button until it makes an audible beep at which time it will accept one CD after another until the magazine is full.
Using pre-recorded CD's is preferable as the ones you burn are slightly different in thickness and can jam the system.
Hope this helps.
Q: honda odyssey auxillary input?
I have honda odyssey 2003, does anyone know if it has an AUX input jack to connect my iPod? It has an "AUX" button on player but I cant seem to find the jack to put the pin. Thanks
A: Do you have the model with the dvd player? If so the AUX jacks are in the very back on the passenger side in the little arm rest that opens up. I use it for my ps2
Q: 2003 Honda antitheft system issues - help!?
I bought a used 2003 Honda Odyssey. The seller gave me 1 key, which - I discovered when I went to make copies - has a chip in it. I'm told the vehicles come with 3 keys, so I run the risk of the vehicle being stolen (since I have no idea where the first 2 keys are). I don't want to pay for an $80 extra programmed key that does not even give me extra security. I want to disable the stupid antitheft system, which will not be effective anyway. Can this be done? If so, what are the "key words" to tell a Honda dealer if I have to call one, so they won't think I am a wannabe car thief?
Also, the battery in the Honda died last week... now the stereo won't come on because I don't have the code to convince it that it hasn't been stolen. (what a dumb system this seems like) Can a dealer give me the code? Will it cost me anything to get it?
thanks
A: No worries for missing keys....the old and missing keys will not allow the car to start because the antitheft system will only recognize your new keys when the dealer programs it.....however, the only thing the thief can do is open the doors, and we don't that want that either....so what u need to do is have 2 separate keys.. a key(s) ignition lock(these keys will be based on your VIN #,this way your ignition lock assembly doesn't have to be replaced) and a key for for any door locks outside your car..so that means all door locks on your car needs to be replaced to match the new key....this will be added security if u think the old keys are in the wrong hands...i know, it's gonna be a little expensive if u go all out on this extra security....
This is what i would do if i were u.....car insured? do that first just in case. This would be the least to most expensive steps.
-replace the old ignition lock cylinder or assembly...it will also come with a new matching key and dealer will program it to recognize the new key only..that way the car will not start if someone has the other missing key(s).
-take out all important items from car...laptops,cellphone,paystubs,etc.before u call it a night.
-start putting some money away until your ready to replace all door locks...the new door locks will come with a new key... so any old keys won't unlock the doors...so u will have 1 key to start car and 1 key to unlock the doors..
-if six months or more goes by and the ignition lock replaced only, then my guess is that the missing keys are long gone and that no one will access inside the car....and if u did put some money aside and it's been long enough to not worry about old keys anymore...go treat yourself towards a new toy or something cause the money u put away isn't going towards the costly new door locks....go buy that new LCD or plasma TV u always wanted or that new cellphone,a new vIdeo card for your pc,or that special something for your loved ones...or whatever...GOOD LUCK!
Oh, about your radio code..u must go to the dealer and show drivers lic. and car registration...ask for radio code....enter code...if 3 or more unsuccessful attempts and radio not working then the radio has been replaced...that means the radio part#, serial# and model number is the only way your gonna get the correct code for that radio..
Q: Honda Van Odyssey Clock Lighting?
My 2003 honda van odyssey light is out, can't see at night.... It must have been so long ago that I thought they built that way, Can some one show me how to replace the bulb without disassembly the whole dask board... thanks in advance.
A: needs to remove the clock sorry
Q: For the people that have the HONDA ODYSSEY, is it a good van when there is snow? I am looking to buy a 2003?
I want to buy it but since we are in the winter time I want to see if I can see other people reviews in how the van drives when there is snow. Is it good? not good at all? Thanks
A: Have an 06 Odyssey, and it is the greatest van ever. I don't personally drive in snow, but I do have friends in CT who own their second one, and wouldn't buy any other van. They say it drives wonderfully in the snow. They have said that they always feel very safe driving in winter conditions. Hope this helps a little with your decision making. Besides snow driving, which I know nothing about, driving the Odyssey in general is a joy. I love everything about it. You will not regret buying one, and who knows with the way this winter is going, in a couple of years you may not have to worry about driving in snow at all! ;) Best of luck!
Q: How do take action against a car dealer?
I bought a 2003 Honda odyssey in Aug 07. Transmission just broke down and cost me $3200. I found out that it was involved in an accident and the transmission fluid was burnt. According to the crooked dealer on eBay, it was in immaculate condition and everything was checked. I want him to pay for repair. He doesn't reply to my phone calls or emails. I like to take action against this fraud dealer for false advertising. What should i do.
A: abu z, I'm not too knowledable when it comes to auto repair. Last year I had an accident with my Nissan Murano and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the web for help, but the procedures were way too complex for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations ( insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. Maybe you can try calling auto repair shops in your area to see if they can help you. http://www.autorepairshoplocator.com
Q: What does it mean when all of my lights are out and my van won't start?
I have a 2003 honda odyssey. Today, none of the lights came on nor would it start.
A: Uhhh......Dead battery??
Q: How to turn off "Maintenance Req'd" light on 03 Odyssey??
My 2003 Honda Odyssey is in need for an oil change. The change was done by local auto mechanic since I had it, however, last oil change was done at dealer while it was in for other repairs. Now the light's been blinking for like 1-2 months and today it wont go off. Does anyone know how to turn the "Maint Req'd" light off? I'm going to do the oil change from now on with the syntetic oil but do not know how to reset the light.
TIA
A: Maybe this will help:
While the car is off, push and _hold_ in your Trip meter button, then while still holding that button in... turn your ignition key to _On_ (not start). Wait until light goes out or you need a hair cut... which ever comes 1st. LOL, seriously it should go out in about 15 seconds or less
Q: Car insurance for 16 year old boy in Bay Area California under parents?
I have good grades (above a 3.5), and I'm looking for cheap insurance for either a 2003 Honda Odyssey LX or a 2002 Lexus RX300. As of now, I am 16 and 4 months.
A: Take into consideration that you are only 16 and you have two fairly new, nice, expensive cars. Your not going to be cheap. The cheapest way to go is to be under your parents policy. I am a licensed Insurance Agent in over 40 states. I see on a daily basis kids calling in to get a quote and find how expensive it is. Look at it this way: You will pay more up front now cause you dont' have much of a driving history. every 6 months your policy will renew. As long as you remain ticket and accident free you will normaly see a discount on your monthly rate every 6 months.
Q: Can anybody get Honda Certification for their vehicle?
If I buy a 2003 Odyssey, 50000km from a private sale, can I take it to Honda and get it "Honda-certified", therefore getting me an extra year and 20000km of warranty? Or is Honda Certification only if I buy a car from their dealership? I live in Canada, not sure if their policy would be different than the US.
A: you bought private party you get nothing sorry
it only apples to USA vehicles check and sold as USA Honda dealers to buyers in the USA
Honda has different warranty policy's for Canada cars
