Q: 2004 honda pilot ex, where is the overdrive button/ switch?
I was wonder it says, 5spd,a/t with overdrive. I can't seem to find the overdrive button, does it have one? if so, where is it?
A: my 2003 had it right on the shifter.
Q: How do i change from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive?
i have a 2004 honda pilot and i dont know how to shift it from 2 to 4 wheel drive
A: Check your car manual if you have one. If you dont, there is usually a button either on the left hand side of the steering wheel or on the display where your radio is just a little lower then it. Plus make sure your car is 4wheel drive, it might be front wheel. Usually the button itself will say what it is.
Q: What SUV should I get?
I have a 2004 Honda Pilot, I love it, but I want something new. Any ideas?
The environment, gas, and cost is not my concern. Reliability is. Safety is. My daughters will be riding in it.
A: Checkout
Lexus SUV, they have the big gas guzzler and the smaller one....depends are you tall?
Nissan, Armada or the 2008 Xterra, and even the pathfinder...
Infiniti SUV, they have that huge gas guzzler but it's phat and then my favorite the FX something
Porche Cayenne, I think it might be small but it's unique..see what it is about.
Toyota, 4Runner very cool or the gas guzzler Sequoia never a bad choice great rngine lots of room or even the FJ7...it's GenX, but it's cool see what the inside is like...
Mercedez, checkout that silverbox looking one...I think they are so cool can't remember the name, but it looks like a armoured truck to me...such a mans truck..its hot!
Do you like American? (lol) Not many people do, but I also like the Jeep not the Grand Cherokee but the newest jeep that came out...can't think of it...
Well a little advice to you...good design is fuction, price, and how good it looks to you. I hope you find what's a good design for you.
Q: Suv or van?
what are the differences between a van and an suv? which is bigger? my mom's 99' honda oddyssey seems MUCH bigger on inside than my dad's 2004 honda pilot???
A: Personally I would go with the SUV mini vans are for soccer moms! or people who don't mind driving any old thing. And if you're looking for space, forget Honda and get a Chevy Tahoe or Suburban ... the Yukon Denali is hot too ;)
Q: What is a "drive-by-wire" throttle system doing in my new car?
okay, i lied (i didn't get a new car....just yet). i got a chance to drive some relative's 2004 Honda Pilot and the initial response of the throttle is very "touchy." from a standing "dead" stop, when you accelerate the Odyssey-derived 3.5-Liter V6 (a true "boxer" engine), the SUV lurches forward with a LOT of torque. the "jerk" forward can create enough force to break out a few necks. so yeah i guess you can say the Odyssey is "punchy" for a minivan. then i got to TEST drive one of the new 2009 Pilot models at a Honda dealer with the more powerful engine (obviously more horsepower and torque than past models). however, when i tried driving this one, the accelerator pedal didn't seem all that touchy as it was in the older 2004 model. once you start gaining speed, the newer engine certainly feels quicker but the initial pedal response from zero mph feels "sluggish." i have to really depress the pedal (put some effort) into the floor like its underpowered when i could do it effortlessly.
A: Almost every modern vehicle on the road today is 'drive by wire', meaning when you depress the go-pedal you are simply pushing a rheostat that sends signals to the fuel/intake system.
FYI: a 'boxer' engine is a horizontally opposed, 'flat' engine such as Subaru's, old VW's and Porsches. Hondas are equipped with traditional V6 or in line 4 cylinder engines.
Q: How much does a roof rack decrease gas mileage?
I have a 2004 Honda Pilot with a factory roof rack. I purchased a Yakima roof rack system (lowrider mounts, crossbars, bike and ski racks, and a wind fairing). I'm really happy with the rack; it's durable and easy to adjust, but a pain to take off and put back on. I'm considering just leaving it on all the time, but I'm wondering how much of a fuel economy hit I take with the rack installed. I've calculated my gas mileage, but I am getting crazy results--rack on gets better mileage. I think it's probably because I drive the car less with the rack off. I usually take public transit when I commute to work, so I don't drive the Pilot that much during the week.
I know that there has to be some fuel economy hit, because the car is less aerodynamic with the rack. I just don't know how much, and I don't have the time or wherewithal to actually try to precisely measure it. If I keep the rack system installed, is there a configuration that minimizes drag? Any advice would be appreciated.
I'm more concerned about the mileage when the rack is empty. I don't put a large cargo carrier or big box on the roof, but sometimes I take the Pilot on long trips--usually at highway speeds.
A: Anything between 2% and 5%. A lot also depends whether you are driving into or against the wind. I had some on driving into the wind they made so much noise I thought the wheel bearings had gone!
Q: Buy car at the end of lease?
We leased a Honda Pilot in 2004 it now has 28,000 miles. We have the option to buy it for $19,000. The other choice is buy a new or used car. If we do in fact buy our Honda it will only be for a year or two (because my wife "can't" drive a 4 or 5 year old car). My main goal is to have as little debt as possible. What should I do, buy the Honda and then have to finance a new/used car in a year or just buy a new/used now?
A: I say lease another car. Leasing is designed for people who just CAN'T drive a 4-5 year old car (as long as you STAY WITHIN THE MILES). If you buy it now then sell it, its out of warranty, you pay sales tax (if you're in a state that taxes), and you're stuck trying to sell it later which is a PAIN!
Or you can lease a new one and keep your payments low
Or you can slap some sense into your wife ;)
Q: Which one is Better? Honda CR-V or Pilot?
I am in a confusion of which one to buy because I like both of them. Also, If you prefer Honda CR-V, which year should I get? 2003, 2004 ones or 2007?
A: wow both are great car but here are the different the CRV is smaller than the pilot but it valuable on fixing or maintenance it and on gas and cleaning then the pilot but the pilot has more room it fit 8 passenger and it bigger than he CRV and has more horsepower but sucks on gas than the CRV. I will say if you don't have 5 kids than buy the CRV but if you have a big family than goes with the pilot and i got the crv is better but i allso like the pilot from 2005 and up. just remember this al the 2002 to 2006 crv are not much different the the 2003 to 2007 is almost the same but only different is the pilot is bigger and stronger and more hp. so good luck.
Q: my husband just wrecked our suv?
he took a ditch & flooded the truck, the water went unto the floor boards. the electric windows wont go down. the wrecker guy thinks its totaled. (its a honda pilot 2004) we owe $25k but the kelly blue book website says the retail value is $22. we have 10/20/10 & $500 comp & collision. will we be libal to pay the extra $2k or will the insurance cover it.
A: Your insurance will pay the actual cash value of the vehicle to the lienholder, if there is a GAP you are responsible for the difference. Your $500 deductible applies but is deducted from the final settlement. Plan on paying this to your lienholder though...you still owe the deductible, in addition to any balance remaining on the car loan.
Q: Car window probleems.?
I have a honda pilot from 2004, sometimes when were driving and open the windows, this really annoying sound happens. Its not loud, but its really deep and hurts your whole head. If you have any suggestions or reasons why this would happen, it would help a lot. Thanks!
A: Best way to diagnose the problem would be to take a door panel off and roll the windows down and up repeatedly, looking at the window track for potential problems. Off hand, I would say that the window track may need to be re-greased or that the window is misaligned where it fits into the track and something is rubbing as a result.
Q: Parking Space courtesy in an Apartment Building?
I live in a 30 unit Apartment building in California. When I moved in the landlord said if you move in you can have that parking under your apartment. I'm like...cool..I'm in. I've been living at parking here since November 2004.
Yesterday I come home and there is a brand new Honda Pilot parked in my spot. I honk and my (3rd one since i lived here) walks out of her apt and says, "Yvonne, that's my car". I think she going to move it but she walks back into her apt and closes the door. I'm like "what the heck?" I wait she never returns.
I park out on the street but very pissed off. I didn't want a confrontation last night because I was tired and I think I would have ripped into her.
I need advice on how to handle this tonight when I go home and she is possbibly in my spot. I need a confident and mature response in case she says something like. " I'm the manager and I can have any spot I want. "
Thanks for your help...yahoo answers rocks!
I did mention she is the landlord, right?
There are only 3 parking covered parking spaces in the small complex. There are garages, I believe there are 3 of them also.
It is on my lease along with my small dog that I have that covered parking.
A: If the spaces are assigned, you can politely point out that this space was assigned to you. If she wants that one, specifically, politely ask for a different one to be assigned to you. Ask for one as close to your apartment as possible, of course, or at least one in a well-lighted area where there will be people around. Hopefully, she'll be understanding. Explain, if needs be, that parking (don't mention it was a particular spot unless she asks) was promised as part of your rental agreement.
If the spaces are not assigned, you have no leg on which to stand -- much as you'd like to keep 'your' spot, if it's not officially assigned, you can't.
Be as kind and polite as you know how to be, and things will go much better for you in the long run.
Q: Best Car for starting a family?
My husband and i are planning on getting pregnant next may. We are contemplating what would be the best car for our growing family. We currently own a 2004 honda accord, and a 97 chevy lumina. We have a 5 month old Doberman puppy, who will get up to 90 lbs and we love to have him travel with us!
We were thinking about either the honda CR-V or Pilot, since we love HONDA ,but we are trying to consider other options too. We will probably buy used, and want an suv or wagon, with Navigation and DVD if possible with plenty of room for future children. Preferrably no american made cars and within 20-25K. Serious Answers only! Thanks!!
A: THE HONDA PILOT IS A PREFECT VEHICLE FOR YOU AND THE FAMILY.
VERY RELIABLE AND A VERY GOOD RESALE VALUE.
