Q: Is a 2006 Honda Pilot EX-L a good high school first car?
Im getting a car really song my parents are buying it and i really like the honda pilot. i was looking at the mustang gt 2006 but then i saw that it was outragous in insurance prices and i dont want to make my parents pay that when i there paying $16,000 and for my gas. I have a 3.9 grade average and i am a freshman in highschool. so dont try and say im a spoiled brat. thanks. does it have good pickup because i went from fast to alright pickup. and when you lock the truck with the key fob does it honk the deep horn sound or the whiny one. i hate the whiney one. im looking at either silver or white for the color and tan for the inside. help with your input!
A: You know what, I've never really seen alot of highschool freshmen like such cars as these. I personally like the Honda Pilot, as I have driven it before. Since you are talking about the Ex-L, it will feel like a luxury vehicle from the inside. The outside also looks truckish. But another thing you might have to watch out for this, is that for 16 grand, I don't think you will be able to buy a low mileage Honda Pilot. At the minimum, the miles will be around 80k plus. If you are willing to buy this car, with alot of miles, than this will be the perfect choice for you.(And I don't think the miles should be much of a bother, because the car is very reliable. My friend owns a pilot, 2004 Honda Pilot, and has over 110k miles on it, and nothing done to it, except routine maintenance.)

Q: Back door to my Honda Pilot will not open.?
I have a 2006 Honda Pilot. The back door will not open. When I hit the door unlock button or unlock from my key. The handle just squeezes all the way in but won't release the door. Any one had this problem.
A: Open it from the outside handle and flip the childlock up to restore the
operation. Ck your owners manual on the childlock. Or the release
cable of latch is broke. 06 still may be in warranty.
Q: honda pilot running boards?
I just won on ebay some chrome tube style factory running boards off of a 2006 honda pilot. His listing says they will fit on 03-08's. but i know the body style changed. I just need to know if they will fit on my 2005. anyone know?
A: the 2005 and 2006 models are the same. The running boards will fit. in 2009 the Pilot was replaced with a new body style with different dimensions but the 2003-2008 are essentially the same vehicles.
hope that helps
Q: is a simple Honda pilot EX 2006 certified SUV, with a milage of 36,000, worth buying for 16,500$?
Its just a simple EX no added features.
I dont know if I should go for it, can u help me?
after this price I would have to pay 990 $ more because of the state tax.
what do u think?
KBB says that this car should retail for 20,450$.
KBB assumes that it is in good condition,
and the car is, its certified, has a one owner history, no dents, car fax is clean...
A: Well, if they offer a lower price or you can bargain them down, that would obviously be nice; unfortunately, that is a fairly good price as (at least in my area of central ohio) a 2006 pilot EX for $16,900 has 51,171 miles on it. And the only EX with that number of miles (36k) is $17,500. So you actually are getting a good deal.
Q: Get out of Honda Lease?
I have a 2006 honda Pilot with 12k miles allowance allowed. I have 10 months left and have 40k miles. I would like to somehow get out of the lease without paying a 45cent per mile penalty. Is there anyway I can get out and get into a new lease without getting screwed?
A: Well, Generally you have 3 options. You can purchase the car out right, or you can turn it in and pay the millage, or the other option is to trade it in for a different vehicle. You may go a bit top heavy. Good luck
Q: How much would my insurance be?
I will be a sixteen year old male and im getting my lisence the summer before junior year i have around a 3.2 gpa and the main car ill drive is a 2006 honda pilot and my dad has a 2007 honda civic. Also my dad is insuraned through geico and same with my sister but shes at college. Around how much would my insurance be? I know its more cause im a male but I would just like a ballpark amount. Thanks.
A: Insurance is very individual because it's based on your drivers record, sex, age, and a number of other variables such as location, credit rating and type of vehicle being insured.
Q: Car Rental Cost for A Month and A Half?
Estimate how much it would cost to rent a 2006 Honda Pilot for a month and a half. Please exclude gas prices.
Thank you!
A: The car rental should cost you $30 per day. For 45 days that should cost $1,350.00. If you purchase insurance it'll cost you an additional $10 a day or $450.00. So anywhere between $1,350 and $1,800.
Q: getting a 2006 ford explorer?
i'm about to get my first car..right now i usually drive my mom's honda pilot but i want to get a 2006 ford explorer.
do they drive well?
and anyone who has had experience with driving both a ford explorer and a honda pilot..which drives better?
A: if you want your car for a long time buy the honda
if you really want the explorer sell it in 3-4 years and let someone else worry about the problems.
btw honda pilots have alot of room. you will be able to fit all ur friends in it
Q: We are five months from our end of lease and are running hot on mileage. Suggestions on best approach?
We have a 2006 Honda Pilot with 45,000 miles on it. The lease ends on May 1st and each additional mile over 47,500 is .20 a mile. We're going to hit the 47,500 by the first week of January at our current run rate and reducing use is not a real viable option. I already called Honda to see if I could turn it in early and get another Honda without having to pay the remaining payments (their pull ahead option) but they said no for Pilots. It'll run me an extra $200 a month in excess mileage if we keep it through lease end and we're trying to decide whether it makes sense to do that or get a new car and turn the Honda in early since there are so many decent deals on cars right now. Other ideas?
A: You don't have many choices. You can turn it in early and pay a penalty, or you can keep driving it and pay for the mileage, or you can park it and get another car but then you'll have the two payments. We were in the same situation a few years ago and just bit the bullet and paid for the excess mileage. When you say you called Honda, who did you actually call? If it was a corporate office then you need to go see a dealer, they can probably do a trade in deal to get you out of the lease but you'll probably still have some negative equity you'll have to refinance.
Q: Getting ripped off?
Mid-Hudson Region, NY
Honda Pilot 2006
Rear ended, reflector broken, minor damages in general
Replacement: Lower Cover ($40), LT Reflector ($20), Step Pad ($32) = 2.1 Hours Labor
Repair: Bumper Cover (3hr labor, 3hr paint), Clear Coat (1.1 hr)
Parts = 91.88
Labor = $48/hr = 249.60
Paint Labor = $48/hr = 187.20
Paint Supplies = $25/hr = 97.50
Total = $692.74
This sounds like a lot, but I know nothing.
Thoughts?
This isn't my car, so it's not as easy as just bringing the car around. Plus, it's really in the hands of the owner as to where he's willing to get the work done. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off hundreds of dollars, cause he reasonable enough to go elsewhere then
And telling me to avoid accidents doesn't help me with this problem.
Thanks to everyone for your expertise!!!
A: It feels like you are getting ripped, but at $48.00hr....believe me you're not. Most shops in our area have a shop rate of $95.00 to $140.00/hr.
I think you ought to go for it!
Q: What SUV Should I buy?
I wanted a honda pilot or cr-v but the pilot was just to expensive and I don't like the new 2007 body style of the cr-v. There are no more new 2006 c-r-vs and the used ones already have 50,000+ miles on them.I am giving up on the cr-v but I still need an suv.
Something around $20,000 that will last. Good milage and safe for family cross country trips. I don't want a huge suv like the expadition. Something smaller m=and made for a lady. any sugestions
Please tell me what you think I might like about the suv. like gas milage or safty freatures. thanks for the help
A: Toyota RAV 4 $20,850 - $26,420 new.

You can get the smaller engine too and get 24 / 30 mpg. Also comes with a 3rd row.

NHTSA Rollover Test

The redesigned RAV4 is our highest-rated small SUV. The V6 version scores at the top, the four-cylinder is second. It has a flexible, well-designed interior and agile handling. It is much more substantial than its predecessor, with a quieter interior, a more comfortable ride, and better fuel economy in the four-cylinder. Handling is agile and secure with standard stability control. The rear seat is roomy. A third-row seat is optional. The four-cylinder engine is carried over, and it feels responsive. The optional 3.5-liter V6 makes the RAV quick and quiet, and it returns only 1 mpg less than the Four, but in Limited trim it pushes the price up to $30,000. Front side- and curtain air bags are standard for 2007.
Consumer Reports Bottom Line Price
The Consumer Reports Bottom Line Price is the dealer invoice minus any holdbacks, national dealer incentives, and customer rebates.
Bottom Line Price Range: $18,868 - $23,513

Q: getting a 2006 ford explorer?
i'm about to get my first car..right now i usually drive my mom's honda pilot but i want to get a 2006 ford explorer.
do they drive well?
and anyone who has had experience with driving both a ford explorer and a honda pilot..which drives better?
A: drive both! it is your opinion that counts. which one do you prefer. the explorer will get worse gas mileage. the honda will have less power. really i think it comes down to price. you can get a used explorer for far less then the honda. if you go with the honda buy new.
