Q: i have a 2008 honda pilot 4wheel drive. does anybody know how to activate the 4wheel drive system. ?
A: Hondas usually have an automatic 4WD system that activates as needed. I have an '05 Element and then it was called Real Time 4 Wheel Drive. The couple of times i've taken it into rougher conditions you can definately feel it kick in.
Q: 2008 Honda Pilot?
Does anybody know when the 2008 Pilot will be available for purchase? I read somewhere here that it will be in October, but one dealer told me August, and another told me September. When is it really???
Also, does anybody know if there is any significant difference in the body/design of the 2008 compared to the 2007? Source???

A: They are out now, at least at my dealership in Michigan. You can't have one "shipped out" from the factory. Unless you want one of the new trim levels I would lean toward the 2007 models. Depending on where you live there is most likely a large incentive (i.e. cash and or special apr or good leases) to buy 2007.
Q: why they don't show us pictures of honda pilot 2008?
A: All car manufacturers do this, they do not like to give their competition a heads up and they would like buyers to buy what they have on the lot first, they make more $.
Toyota is doing this with the '08 Prius because it is said to be very different looking than the current model.

i know that my cousin's 2008 honda pilot is a v6 but at times it switched to a v4 or v3 on the freeway. at what model did that start at?
A: On the 2006-2008 model it would need to be a 2wd any trim and the VCM will switch from 6 to 3.
It wasn't till 2009 that the VCM with 6-4-3 engine was used on all trim levels.
Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) uses the i-VTEC system to disable one bank of cylinders during specific driving conditions to save fuel.
Q: How can I connect factory sub woofer to my after market car stereo?
I replaced factory radio from my 2008 honda pilot. now my subwoofer is not working. as per my knowledge this is not a powered subwoofer. how can I connect this subwoofer to new Kenwood DNX 7100. Please help me.
A: FIRST U have to find the remote wire that is giving the factory sub the power then splice it into the remote wire on the radio harness(blue wire) i did it to my buddy's range rover:;;;;FLIP,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Q: Anyone hear of a vehicle's cruise control engaging on its own while driving without being able to disable it?
2008 Honda Pilot. Shut off engine, then re-started to see if cruise control would re-set, but instead upon re-starting, engine raced and could not be moved out of Park gear!
A: Throttle position sensor, does exactly what the name implies, when it goes batty your throttle's position goes batty with it, so your engine revs even if your foot is off the gas.
Not 100% sure on that but it is a good bet. It is not something you should monkey with yourself unless you are pretty sure you know what you're doing. If you have to ask where it is, I would recommend you take it in.

A: You can always negotiate the price when buying a car. They dont want you to leave and go somewhere else.

Also, I am looking for something that is very clear, like listening to bose headphones. I've been looking for bose speakers but have not been able to find them. I have a 2008 honda pilot with factory speakers. What can I do to get great, clear sound in my pilot. I would like a nice bass, but not so powerful that it drowns out the music.
A: The 08 Pilots have 6 1/2" all the way around. Focal makes a nice 6 1/2" coaxial if you don't want to modify your car any. I would look for an excellent pair of seperates if you want to improve your front sound stage. The really good seperates can start at $300 and up...you'll find higher-end Focal, DLS, Boston Acoustics, JL Audio & Dynaudio in this realm. Some of the best offerings from these guys can reach $600-$800 a pair. If you plan on acheiving the best sound...would look into sound deadening material while replacing the speakers so that the good money you put into them isn't compromised by the "car" environment.

Q: Car Scratches (pic inside)?
I have scratched a 2008 Honda Pilot, Billet Silver Metallic, Color ID # NH689M
There were black marks on the bumper. I went out and bought the paint for it, the exact paint ID, and they said I need Primer, so I bought it, followed the instructions and now the bumper looks like this.

It looks like somebody spray painted the car, I know nothing about Primer, is it supposed to be white like it is?
Tommorow, Monday, I am getting the paint, will it become silver again?

A: if that is primer that you sprayed on then yes that is the way primer looks, very dull, when you spray the silver on it should cover the primer and be silver again but it might not be a perfect match when done, you need to take it to a good bodyshop if you want it matched perfect.
Q: my dad doesn't believe that there's a car with a rear view camera on the road.?
he just saw a concept car coming in 2012 that has no rearview mirrors but only has rearview cameras and he thinks that's the only car with a rearview mirror. i tried explaining that the Honda Pilot does have a rearview mirror but he refused to believe me. i even showed him the video from the honda website and he still doesn;t believe me. i showed him a picture of a Honda Pilot 2008 and 2009 in msn and yahoo and ebay -still doesn't believe me. told him to go to the honda dealer and take a look at the honda pilot in order to proove me wrong but he says he shan't bother cos there's no car out on the road with a rearview camera, except for the concept car coming in 2012. so i said go f*** yourself.i mean really, i lay out all the evidence and he still doesn't believe it. what else can i do to make him understand?
A: Granted, there are TONS of models with backup cameras now (they're almost standard equipment on luxury cars, crossovers, AND high-end SUVs); but that's beside the point.
Why do you care whether or not he knows this? Sometimes it's a struggle for a parent (especially a father) to admit his kid's more in touch with certain things than he is. He remembers when he grew more knowledgeable of what was then the modern world than his parents. He's facing his own antiquity and mortality. Don't let it get to you.

A: The prices wont drop till they need to get rid of the 08 vehicles. Right now in our area they are in short supply.

Higher the better for your score. Depending on your dealers relationship with AHFC, you could get the financeing with a score in the mid 600s.

This is all being done through Carquest.
A: You need to clean the paint, wet sand and shoot the paint. After that you will need to buff it out with a buffer be careful or you will be doing this again
